The gold dome capitol is a beautiful historic facility- great for field trips, group travel or solo travel. There are multiple displays of Georgia history throughout the building. You can also watch politicians during general session in the balconies. Please note weapons are not allowed,...More

Love going through my state's capital building. Has a beautiful gold gome on top. Our guide was very good.

Beautiful building inside and out. The House and Senate chambers are very ornate, and the interior of the building reminds me of those located in Washington, D.C., as it's intended to. I'd recommend starting on the fourth floor, where the museum is, and working your...More

If you are interested in the history of Georgia this is a must see. Located downtown Atlanta it is easy to reach, and the top floor has an interesting historic exhibition.

I'm surprised the ratings aren't higher for this building. It's a stunning capitol with an impressive dome, set in attractive gardens. You need to have your bags searched when you go in, so prepare for this. It's entirely walkable from Downtown and free to enter....More

The Capitol was huge with a lot of history to tell. The architecture was stunning. Most of the main meeting halls were open to the public. It is free to tour the Capitol. No gift shop and very limited concessions.

As far as I am aware, it is closed at weekends. Normal hours are Mon - Fri 9am to 5pm. We also needed identification as well to get in, so don't forget to bring this with you.
