Visiting Abraham Lincoln's tomb was a fascinating and moving experience. Several statues of Lincoln and plaques of his speeches are located throughout the rotunda that contains his tomb. The young gentleman at the tomb's entrance was very knowledgeable and eager to answer our questions. Be...More

We visited the Lincoln Tomb around 7:30 on a Wednesday morning. It was a sunny day. No one was there. The sun was beginning to stream between the trees. In the hilly, spreading cemetery, large and small tombs stood. At the highest, most beautiful location...More

Stopped by the war memorials (WWII, Vietnam, Korea) beautifully kept up gardens. Very humbling experience to see how many Illinois residents lost their lives in these wars. Lincoln Tomb is majestic. Highly recommend stopping by the cemetery.

The tomb is amazing. I heard people, including my own husband complaining about a musty odor. Really? The place is old...and I did not even smell it. Was very interesting...a bit emotional. You can see the first tomb location located down the hill behind the...More

Quick stop to visit Lincoln's final resting place. It's a quick visit, about a half hour. Air conditioned inside the mausoleum. The attendant was very knowledgeable but had to ask him questions to get him to open up.

Probably about a 4 mile car ride. I don't think they have busses that go there.

Not only is it open but I think it's a perfect time to visit! We toured on Sunday morning not long after it opened and practically had the place to ourselves.
