This is a fun half-day excursion to some incredible dams and views. Words and pictures can't describe it as well as being there. The trip up to the top is a fun and unique experience.

Be prepared to dedicated at least 5-6 hours for a total visit. there are three-step ascending/descending to reservoir. One important tip - park on the highest possible floor, the way out is at the parking roof and there are no lifts, only tiny stairs. You...More

We had been up Kitzsteinhorn in the morning and followed the road signs to the Dams - about 30 mins uphill walk and leaves you with no signs once you get to car park. However once you find it is worthwhile. Our tickets were free...More

We visited this attraction without knowing what is awaiting us. You have to park way down in the valley in a giant multi-level parking. From there you take 2 bus and 1 collective elevator. You may have seen 2 dams and accumulation lakes. A trip...More

Try to go on a clear day. We went on a cloudy overcast day, but it was the only day we had left in the Zell am See/Kaprun area. It is a ways past the Sigmond-Thun gorge (about another mile) and the Kitzsteinhorn glacier. There...More

We did not fully know in advance how this trip works, and we kind of expected we would just drive up there, park and walk a short distance to a nice viewpoint. It is, however, more complicated than that (in a good way). :) First,...More

The crazy Austrians actually built a power plant here, way up in the Alps (more than 2000m above sea level). I'll never forget the view. It was snowing in early September, so yeah, bring good clothes, especially boots!

We visited this attraction without knowing what is awaiting us. To begin with, the trip to the glacier and lake is a adventure by bus and a special open air slope train. Once arriving at the peak you can not stop admiring the view and...More

I'm afraid not really, you have to park in the parking lot (possibly on the top floor that is on the same level as the bus departure area) and then after buying tickets you bosrd the bus to the dams
