Yaxha is 11 miles on the bumpy dirt road that probably deters many people from visiting. We were the only tourists there and had the whole large site just for ourselves. That added to the special feeling of the ruins, we were able to climb...More

After spending the previous day in Tikal, Yaxha was a welcomed change. We booked a day trip from Tikal with Marlon Diaz of Gem Tours (you can google his website, he speaks fluent English and is incredible) and were stunned at how different it is...More

Yaxhá is located close to Tikal, but nevertheless much more complicated to reach. From Flores it is a 2 hours trip by car and it is recommended having a SUV in particular for the last 20km and during bad weather conditions. The site itself is...More

Pretty hard to reach for the last 11 km due the very bad roads conditions. Amazing site without any other tourists. Fantastic view from the top of some pyramids!
