We just spent a week in New Orleans. There were four of us. We are all fans of live music, preferably blues; our friend actually has his own band as an avocation. We discovered this Jazz Hall Tuesday night I think. All or part of...More

This little spot is hidden in plain sight. Just steps from Canal and Bourbon, you can get an authentic New Orleans “experience”. Great live jazz, cocktails and burlesque... what else do you need?

Intimate bar with live jazz. The best part was the Green Fairy Room. Our fairy's name was CJ Sparks and she was awesome. She mixed her enticing burlesque dancing with an interesting history of absinthe and a lot of laughs. She's a great performer and...More

We wanted to a bar with live music and was told by a local that Frenchman was the best place for this. However, we were unimpressed with the rowdiness of the Frenchman area and continued our search for the perfect bar. We happened upon Mahogany...More

I wanted to see a burlesque show and got more than I paid for. The Green Fairy and her show and the way she prepares the Absinthe drink was great! It was great to learn the history of absinthe and why only 3 states allow...More

Good bar to enjoy some jazz music in a small venue. We watched some sets and had some nice beers. They also have burlesque shows at back of the bar area if you are interested.

The WORST service I have ever had, working in hospitality myself I could not believe it took over 30 mins to prepare a basic drink. You couldn’t enter the burlesque show without a drink even if you paid the entry fee, so half of our...More

Wandered in because of the music we heard while walking down Charles Street. A real Dive, but excellent entertainment. An authentic throwback to the 50's complete with tacky burlesque in the back. Great little find

Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other
parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title
might suggest that this area is all about business and
little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you
away from the Central Business District. The CBD
offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be
touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the
world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts
