The area
Address
Neighborhood: Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.

We had a great time at the Rusty Nail, which was recommended to us by our bartender at Peche. We were blown away by the great prices for drinks especially during Mardi Gras. Seemed like it was a bar a lot of locals drink at, which is always a good thing.

On a Wednesday evening, we were headed to their sister restaurant next door, Sidecar, for dinner and decided to go here first for a beer, after a lot of walking.

It is a nice, comfortable environment. The bartender was friendly. They have an expansive selection of bourbon for connoisseurs.

We ended up ordering from Sidecar and eating at the bar in the Rusty Nail.

If you are staying close (or live) by and are looking for a nice little place, this is it.

Conveniently located near the convention center, the National WWII Museum, and several hotels, the Rusty Nail is a fun place to hang out. The drink prices are very reasonable (less than half compared to the hotel I stayed at). The bartender was engaging. Their bourbon selection was well stocked with a variety of options. They share space with Sidecar, where you could order food. Overall, a great experience and I'll definitely go back the next time I'm in town.

The atmosphere was nice, good live music. The famous frozen lemonade wasn't very good though. Loved sitting in the outside patio but inside with the good live music was the highlight of the experience.

We went Monday before Mardi Gras. There was a live band. The drinks were good. They had two women outside cooking thai food. The place is huge. The bathrooms gross.

Great courtyard setup. Love the selection of beers they had. TV’s almost everywhere so there is no bad seat in the house.

Fun time, good drinks, beautiful outside air... a nice place I would go to again. It definitely seems like a place where the neighborhood regulars go.

This was the first bar we went when we got here for our conference. The only reason I can't give it a 5 star, is due to the fact there is no bar food. You have to go to the street to get food. And, it was just ok. Limited selection. Drinks were good, they make a great old fashion.

We had a big group of people in town for a wedding and headed down to The Rusty Nail at the beginning of our trip.

Doesn't look like much from the outside but when you step inside...

Staff are really friendly.

GREAT large outdoor area fitted with televisions.

Great cocktails.

Will definitely be back.

Was there Saturday night to watch the Bama/Ole miss game and to my surprise I got to meet Brian Landry the awesome chef at Borgne. I was star struck. He was a doll.
