It's gotta be the music but the atmosphere is open and inviting that you don't have to stay all night although on some nights you would. Second time visiting this spot and the vibe is still good over the years.

We stopped in here and there was a very good rock band playing many good covers. Plenty of room to dance, if you want and we were there during two-for-one drinks so it was a good deal. Also a great place to watch people get...More

We visited a lot of places and listened to a lot of music. What makes this place stand out is not only the great music, but between sets, the house MC keeps the party going by playing great music and singing to it. I would...More

We stop in here every time we are in New Orleans. The music is iconic and for us "older than millennials" sometimes we like to hear the good old stuff we grew up on and this place delivers. Drinks are hefty and generous. All age...More

We stopped by the Famous Door twice during our weekend stay in New Orleans. Each time there was a live band playing everything from classic rock to Blink 182 and Green Day to George Strait. The atmosphere was fun, the drinks were good, and the...More

Great location, great music, great fun! We ended up here every night of our trip. The band, Dysfunction, is one of the greatest cover bands I’ve heard! Good old-fashioned rock ‘n’ roll mix over the past decades. Never a dull moment!

Spent a really fun afternoon here listening to live music; Bourbon Street at its finest! The band Half Past Whiskey was absolutely awesome! Good drink deals and nice atmosphere!

A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living
lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty

Over a few years, I've been to the Famous Door several times and it seems they have a different band each time. I hope they don't change to Country and Western music!!! Gotta love that good old Rock & Roll!
