It’s the neighborhood that went away for 40 years and now resurfaced as the place to be if you can’t afford the quarter. Lots of corner bars and restaurants and definitely starting to see commerce come back to the area. Walking distance to the quarter...More

Faubourg Marigny was being gentrified when I returned home to New Orleans after naval service in the early seventies. I knew a doctor who bought single family residence needing a lot of work there in the mid-eighties for only $40,000! I think of this neighborhood...More

Have stayed in the Marigny for most of the years I've gone to NOLA for JazzFest. Quiet (except near Frenchmen Street) and quaint, love the architecture, and walking distance to the Quarter.

We only really explored Frenchman Street, but it was so relaxing to just amble from bar to bar and listen to the different performers.

Located adjacent to the French Quarter, this neighborhood contains interesting old homes, great music venues, art galleries and other attractions, for both locals and tourists. Walk over or take the trolley, and stroll around.

Gentrification proceeds at a steady pace. The streetcars make it to the St. Roch Market. Don't stop there. Down St. Claude is the Good Children's Gallery. It is a worthy destination.

Close to the French quarter, this quaint neighborhood is filled with adventure. My wife and I stayed here for four nights and had a blast exploring. Many styles of homes exhibit NOLAs past occupants. Frenchman street is filled with exciting places to visit. Tons of...More

Spotted Cat is a great place to light for really good New Orleans Music. Some dancing but very crowded which adds to the charm. Beer cold with very good music.
