We enjoyed walking through this area, especially along Frenchmen St. We also stopped at R Bar which was a nice cozy bar with lodging rooms above.

The Marigny is between the French Quarter and The Bywater. The heart of it is Frenchman's street. There are some wonderful little clubs off that stretch but mostly folks know the Marigny for that street. Enjoy the architecture and little cafe's by day and the...More

This is the site of New Orleans' true jazz nightclubs and restaurants, frequented by locals on Frenchmen Street. Bordering the French Quarter, it is within walking distance or a short cab ride. The area, developed in the early 19th century on plantation land owned by...More

Too much to see and enjoy for the little time we were able to spend here! Interesting architecture and fun little spots to grab a drink or bite to eat!

Love this area of NOLA. It is not as congested as the Bourbon Street and French Quarter area. Lots of great restaurants and hotels in the area.

It’s the neighborhood that went away for 40 years and now resurfaced as the place to be if you can’t afford the quarter. Lots of corner bars and restaurants and definitely starting to see commerce come back to the area. Walking distance to the quarter...More

Have stayed in the Marigny for most of the years I've gone to NOLA for JazzFest. Quiet (except near Frenchmen Street) and quaint, love the architecture, and walking distance to the Quarter.

We only really explored Frenchman Street, but it was so relaxing to just amble from bar to bar and listen to the different performers.

Located adjacent to the French Quarter, this neighborhood contains interesting old homes, great music venues, art galleries and other attractions, for both locals and tourists. Walk over or take the trolley, and stroll around.

Nestled between the French Quarter and the Ninth Ward,
the Faubourg Marigny & Bywater environs are largely
residential. Of course, folks around here love to go
out and have a good time as much as they do anywhere
in NOLA. And if out-of-towners want to join in the
festivities, well then so much the better! Home to
some of the most revered live music venues in New
Orleans, an eclectic gaggle of gourmand dining
