What a cool place! Obviously the band playing will impact one's opinion, but we went twice and both nights were amazing.
Good (and not overpriced) drinks, friendly staff, and awesome (mostly local) patrons.
I couldn't (again, assuming that the band is to your liking) recommend...More
We visited when there was no band on but an open mic poetry session out the back (Courtyard was lovely!). The place was really gritty but that’s what made it feel so old and edgy. I have read reviews however about people eating there but...More
Stopped in here before dinner for a quick drink, which was probably not a good time to visit. The place is probably at it's best when a band is on but not before. The "I'm too cool for you" bartender will barely speak to you...More
We had a blast at the Maple Leaf. We went for the music and got there a little early to make sure we could get in and get a spot at the back bar. The front area near the stage gets very crowded. The bartenders...More
Super cool spot, piano going in the back, great beers in the cooler and on tap, ask the amazing bartenders for suggestions on all the local offerings, there's a band jamming at night. Highly recommend it, great spot

Very much their own self sufficient unit within the greater metro area, Uptown and Carrollton tone down the urban edge with a friendly attitude and collegiate feel. Home to Tulane and Loyola Universities, all the students living in the area ensure that Uptown and Carrollton stay youthful, cosmopolitan and vibrantly fun. Two of the liveliest thoroughfares for nightlife and socializing (and yes of course more of the city’s
outstandingly good food and live music) are Oak Street and Maple Street. For a truly wild time, the expansive acreage of Audubon Park, with its zoo, golf course, and actual patches of swampy wetlands, means peace and quiet are never too far away.
