Pidurutalagala, or Mount Pedro in English, is an ultra prominent peak, and the tallest mountain in Sri Lanka, at 2,524 m. Mount Pedro is located close to the city of Nuwara Eliya, and is easily visible from most areas of the Central Province.Driving directions to Pidurutalagala Nuwara Eliya Sri Lanka 1. Head west on Peradeniya-Badulla-Chenkaladi Highway/A5 Continue to follow A5 Pass by The Governor's Chalets (on the right in 750 m) 1.6 Km 2. Slight right onto B331 Pass by Nuwara Eliya Club (on the right) 900 m 3. Slight right onto Church Rd 800 m 4. Sharp right onto Old Uda Pussellawa Rd 46 m 5. Take the 1st left toward Gamunu Mawatha 550 m 6. Keep left to continue on Gamunu Mawatha Pass by Megistrate's Quarters (on the right) 550 m 7. Turn right toward Piduruthalagala Mountain Rd 170 m 8. Continue onto Piduruthalagala Mountain Rd 450 m 9. Slight left toward Piduruthalagala Mountain Rd 300 m 10. One of the milestone in Sri Lanka as this is the highest point in Sri Lanka You can easily reach there by a car. 230/= Rupees per car & you need to fallow official rules and regulations. Once you up, nice experience

You need to go in a vehicle as you are not allowed to walk or cycle to the mountain top. There is an air force camp at the top so the area is guarded by them. It is worth going to the top to see...More

Highest mountain of the Sri Lanka. In some seasons, it may too cold top of the mountain. Recommand to visit in a sunny day. Sri Lanka Air Force are maintaining the security of the area.

I planned to climb this mountain, but at the foot there was a millitairy point that I was not allowed to pass as a pedestrian. It seems vehicles are allowed.

The local driver which we hired got the clearance from local military authority. You need to show your passport or ID card while entering at the gate. No hassle at all.

hi joshua you can't climb this mountain by foot there are leopard in there for safe side of us only put this control
