A superb idea that hopefully will be adopted throughout the world . We stayed in Pemuteran for 9 days and the sea is benefiting from local dive centres and the education of locals who are actively involved in collecting trash .

Hi Arun, welcome soon to Bali. from my experience diving on that spot, there is no current at all. and a some snorkeler also, some of them have great freedive skill also so they're able to greets me while im diving. it is shore entry which means not to far from the beach. yes, around 50 - 100 meters, you dont need a boat to get there. but if you want to reach sooner, you always can use jukung (named of traditional boat in bali). for kids, i think its safe depends of your kids skill. for a safety, maybe your kid can use life jacket while snorkling.
dont forget also to come to lovina beach, i think your kids would love to see dolphin in open sea which always seen at lovina beach in the morning. hope this help
