Spencer was an awesome host. He was full of knowledge! We each caught a fish and he cooked them right there for us. And they were soooo yummy!!!!

Had an excellent time at the ice fishing shack, Greg out guide for the day was such a great help with hints for how to catch the fish and even local guide to how to view the aurora and where ti get the best local eats while here Fairbanks.
I read the previous reviews before booking, as ya do and I was almost aftaid of what the bathrooms would be like if the need arose while out there…they were clean and open and not what was described in the earlier reviews so I was happy about that as well.

Wonderful 2 in 1 experience.
Spent 9pm to 2am with wonderful and knowledgeable guide Spencer and 3 other guest on Chena Lake. The fishing was slow but still enjoyable. While neither myself or my wife caught a fish (only 2 were) it was exciting when one in our group did catch her first fish ever. And while the forecast for northern lights was not high, we were pleasantly able to see a wonderful display after midnight. Overall we were very happy with our guide Spencer, his knowledge and our experience

My friend and I went on the 3 hour ice fishing on Chena Lake. Ice fishing was the one thing I wanted to do in Alaska. It was the highlight of my trip, mainly because I caught 3 fish and I have bragged about it ever since. Our guide Spencer was a mine of information- not just about fishing - the northern lights, hunting and life in the north and made the tour much more interesting. He cooked some of the fish on the wood stove and it was beautifully seasoned and delicious. I definitely recommend this tour, I can’t wait to go back!

What a great time we had on our dog mushing adventure! My twin sister and I were treated to a very personal experience – our guide Spencer picked us up at our hotel and took us to Goldstream Husky where we met and played with the sled dogs, saw their kennels, learned how to harness them, and enjoyed an hour and a ½ tour through pristine forests and over frozen lakes. Our guides at Goldstream Husky ensured we had enough warm clothing (extra layers were added before heading out!) and provided insight into the sights we saw along the way. The scenery was breathtaking, and the dogs were enthusiastic, fit and well-cared for, and clearly loved their jobs!

Tyson is a great tour for us. He is very patient and I can see that he really wants to make sure we enjoy our time. We did not catch a fish as we need to leave early but we were so lucky to see the northern light and Tyson help us take a great picture! Thank you!

An amazing experience. Went ice fishing and actually caught something. It was very warm and cozy inside the shed and the underwater camera was really cool. Nothing tastes better than a fish that was alive 2 minutes ago. The guide was nice and easy to talk to which was a good thing since it was just me and him for 3 hours. Would definitely recommend, a great Alaskan experience, a little pricey, but worth it.

We had a great time ice fishing. The hut was warm and comfortable. Tyson was awesome. He demonstrated how to ice fish and then helped us to do it. We each caught 2 salmon which he later cleaned and cooked for us. The fish tasted amazing.

The finish experience is amazing. Our guide Tyson was not only friendly but also shared a lot of knowledge on how to drill holes and measure the safety based on the thickness of the ice. It’s very fun.

Are we allowed to take the fish that we caught?

Not if you are fishing the Chena river. We fished here and while my son was originally very disappointed in the end he had so much fun with his dad, it didn't matter. I understand greyling doesn't taste good anyway.

do you offer night fishing??? And if you do would it still be the same price of 125.00. Will be in Fairbanks in a week, trying to figure out what days to do what. I'm really excited about trying night fishing

Since I want to book in Dec. (Christmas gift), is there a plan I can purchase that doesn't have 100% cancellation fee?
I understand there needs to be something of a cancellation fee, but I am finding it hard to get past 100%. My family is planning this trip, but with an elderly parent, what if there is a death in the family?

Thank you for you inquiry. I understand your concern. I recommend to book the tour for the people in your group that you are confident will be attending. We can always add other members as it gets closer to the tour to avoid any cancellation fees.

Hello Katherine,
How is fishing by the end of September in Chena River?
AKRIVERTOURS
Fairbanks, AK25 contributions
Katherine,
Depending on weather conditions, the fishing can still be very productive. I also recommend our day trip on the Delta Clearwater at the end of September for the famous run of Silver Salmon. There will also be Arctic Grayling available for catch on this trip.
