Watch for the signs coming into Astoria to get to the Column. As you get close to the Column there are signs painted on the road surface, just follow the arrows, its that easy! The hills are steep coming up from the city and the...More

The column is covered with a bit showing so that was a disappointment, especially when we were told it would be open in October. Now, they say maybe this year? The views are worth the drive, however you can't go inside the column.

Parking costs $5 otherwise it is free. You can go to top via a winding staircase. It provides great views of the area. There are also wooden airplanes you can throw off the top. There are generally some hanging around on the ground you can...More

This is a must see in Astoria. Very nice place, easily accessible and it offers one of the best views in Astoria. You can see from a high altitude the Colombia river, the ocean, the big bridge, Oregon and Washington states from one single spot.

Beautiful #Astoria #Oregon. A #sunny ☀️ day in the #PNW 🌲 is golden! Timing a sunny day is hard but totally worth it. You’ll have to pay $5 USD to park (for the while year!) and you can hang around as long as you want....More

Wife wanted to see the column, so we drove up the hill. Get a nice view and the column is a mini-history of the area.

What a view!! Much of it must look exactly as it did when Lewis and Clark were here. The tower is free and it's a long and windy walk up. Not for the those who grow weak at the knees when faced with heights! Apparently...More

What a wonderful view of a gorgeous town. It was windy when I visited, making for interesting flights of the airplanes that kids were tossing off of the top. Very affordable, parking was easy, winding road to the top. If you see a bus pull...More

Very well kept up. Much more commercial now than it was back in the 90's. Someday I will climb this again

This column is interesting but there is not much else to see. They want to charge parking which is disappointing although the guard did ket us drive around the loop so we saw the column briefly and left.

Wonderful place for kids to explore. Don’t forget to buy your airplane at the gift shop before going to the top, otherwise you’ll end up doing it twice :)

This is a must do for tourists taking in the Astoria experience. Climb to the top and get some selfies. It's only 140 steps? right.

the $5 parking fee is the only fee, well worth the money for the spectacular views and a full year of visits if you plan to travel back to the area. Definitely recommend purchasing the little planes in the gift shop before... More

It is a little more than a mile and a half from the Maritime Museum on the riverfront, and all uphill. I don't know if there are buses that go up there.

30 min is about right but if you're lucky and have a great day then you'd want a little longer. I say plan for an hour. If you're in that much of a hurry then don't go. I've been there twice BTW.
