Overview
More
Peter Behringer, owner of Sweet Pete's, was raised in the chocolate industry. In 1985, when he was eleven years old, his mother opened a family chocolate business that grew to encompass 32 locations. In 2010, Behringer opened his own whimsical candy shop located in a colorful Victorian home. In 2014, Sweet Pete's was featured on the CNBC hit reality series "The Profit" hosted by Marcus Lemonis, a billionaire investor. Lemonis loved Pete, his candy, and his crazy ideas for where this little shop could go. Sweet Pete's was relocated to an historic mansion in Downtown Jacksonville which includes a full service restaurant, an ice cream parlor, a candy factory with a viewing balcony, and even a toy store! The fun-filled educational environment includes Sweet Pete's Sweet Science Classes, hands-on interactive candy making sessions, and birthday parties. Sweet Pete's is run by a group of naturally fun people who are committed to creating the Sweetest Destination on Earth.

I have visited twice. Once in December with a group (we made candy canes) another more recently to tour their candy making (we made our own candy bar). A definite must go, especially for family's with kids.

I did not see any dogs inside. By Florida State Law, only a registered service dog can be brought inside of any restaurant or business. I did not see any signs outside saying no dogs on the porch.
