Join the scheduled guided tour. Reservations and a fee is required, but it is worth every penny. We had 2 hr tour and we were taken to many 'behind-the-scenes' rooms that the general public do not have access to. We had a great guide who had been working with the City Hall for decades. She is retired now and sometimes runs tours. I cannot remember her name but she was fabulous.

The Philadelphia City Hall is a beautiful building and a landmark in Philadelphia. If you can spare the time, please go. The tour will also give you a history lesson into the City.

I only had a day in Philly and travelled by train on the same day to and from NYC, and decided to spare the time for this. No regrets!

We stopped in after seeing the Liberty Bell but before entering the secure area for our Independence Hall tour. Inside is a small gift shop, and the old Supreme Court chamber. The ranger in the Supreme Court chamber when we went inside was very helpful and gave the kids a nice overview of what we were looking at.
Our Sunday in November was: Breakfast at Colombe Coffee Roasters; Liberty Bell; Independence Hall tour; Supreme Court Chamber in Old City Hall; American Philosophical Society Museum; West Wing; Congress Hall tour; Benjamin Franklin Museum; Franklin Court Printing Office; Lunch at National Mechanics; and Museum of the American Revolution.

It was interesting to see inside but it was just a few minute visit. Stop by if you are in the area to see it.

The shop was helpful but the sight was a wonderful part of the park that is not to be missed. The Docent was simply great.

The old city hall in Philadelphia is still
Standing tall. You can take a guided tour and relive history. It’s a great feeling to be in the heart of the area that our country’s freedom was built on.

Building topped by 70 ton figure of William Penn. Lifting a huge lump of stone into place is still an engineering miracle - just how did they manage it way back then? Well worth a visit.

So it seems that many are mixing up the current city hall with the old city hall in their reviews. This is for the Old City Hall located next to Independence Hall. My tour guide was awesome! Once he learned that I worked in a law library, he gave me the history of the many landmark cases that were decided when it was the location of the Supreme Court. It is a small, short stop but so worth it! Children may be bored but adults will love it.

Loved the tower tour. Very brief, but the views are amazing. Get a little bit of history from the tour guides, it was fairly limited but was enough. I would recommend.

My cousin, sister and I did the Tower Tour only. Every person leading up to the Tower was wonderful. From the lady we encountered when we first went to the wrong place, and the girl we bought the tickets from and even the Security Guards were great. But the Women that took us to the top was TERRIBLE. She never smiled, she recited a lackluster explanation on the elevator ride up and when our time was up she stepped out and said "TIMES UP" when my cousin asked her name she pointed to her last name on her patch. Thank God the views were gorgeous or I would have asked for a refund. It was inexpensive so I definitely recommend it, I just hope you get a better guide.
