Nice quiet drive. You can stop along the way and check out numerous historical signs and relax by the water.

Our daughter lives in Williamsburg, so we have grown to like the area. If you have the time and you want to tour the Parkway, you would be wise to drive to the Jamestown Settlement and start a tour from there. That is the "beginning"...More

Only problem is that it is such a short drive between the triangle highlights, such beauty you don't see too often, perhaps only the Natchez Trace compares. Loved driving by the river and enjoying the natural environment.

I can't really improve upon the other reviews given describing the parkway. Whether in a car, on a motorcycle or a bike, it is just a beautiful ride/drive. On a nice day, just roll the windows down (if driving) and enjoy the ride. Make sure...More

We loved riding our bicycles along the Colonial Parkway. You can go for about 40 miles down to Yorktown and then the other way. The view is out of this world and you can stop and read all the signs and educate yourself on what...More

We drove the distance between Jamestowne and Yorktown and it was a scenic drive beside Chesapeake bay. Saw a lot of wildlife . beautiful drive even this time of year.

This road is a very scenic route between Jamestown, Willamsburg, and Yorktown. Along the Parkway you can see forests, wildlife, and the waterways in the area.

This is a lovely, scenic drive along the York River between Williamsburg and Yorktown. The speed limit is 45 mph, so not for those who want to speed along, but the trade-off is great scenery and few other cars.

As you travel from the Jamestown area to Yorktown you will see many interesting sites. Last week was really nice because the dogwoods and cherries were blooming. The speed is sedate and as you twist thru the turns you will see many river and estuaries...More

Yes...of course. It is open year round and locals use it to avoid I-64 when it gets jammed up or they want a peaceful, easy drive. There are a lot of historical markers and pull-offs. I great place to go star gazing as the... More
