This place is about 2 miles from City of Rocks and has way less people and easier access for beginning climbers that want easy or challenging free climbs. Loved it. My 11 year old and teenagers all climbed to the top of the peaks. What...More

We hiked a couple of trails here - flat and easy. Watched a number of climbers on Castle Rock! Fun! We found the trails well-marked here, much better than in the City of Rocks. Helpful hint - get there early. The parking lot for the...More

We visited here on 8/26/17. There is a $5 entry fee (self pay) and the roads into and in the park are good dirt/gravel roads suitable for an normal car. We drove through the park to Castle Rock which is where the road ends, watched...More

There is a $5.00 fee. You are on your honor to pay. The grandkids liked playing in the small creek. They also were able to climb some rocks.

This place is spectacular. About 15 miles of trails, and amazing views all around. Trails weren't very well maintained when I was here and quite overgrown. Maybe it's still too early in the season. Nonetheless, this was totally worthwhile and I enjoyed hiking for about...More

This is an awesome place to climb, hike and camp. The hike to most climbs are easy and they have two cabins folks can rent out.

We had no idea this was even there. We truly enjoyed our time and hiking the area. We had never heard of this we just saw the sign along the highway and decided to go see. We were not disappointed.

I love visiting places of historic significance; this being a landmark on the California Trail. Though I did not camp, the site seemed well suited for this activity with facilities on site. It was peaceful and majestic. A must visit for outdoor lovers who like...More
