The guards will follow you around as if you were going to steal the art. We were told multiple times to get away from the art

Go to reviews for the Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts, the current name of what was called the Arkansas Arts Center, which is in a beautiful new building.

This museum has changed its name and reopened in April 2023. We made our first visit ever to Little Rock to see the collection there. Our first stop was the beautiful restaurant overlooking the park. The food was well presented and at a good price point.
There is no admission price. The gallery space was larger than expected and sort of hung thematically. A lot of the collection must include contemporary art, but the Degas dancer and the small Wyeths were charmers.
Parking is free and security was present.

Collection itself is varied, and not huge - given the size of the building in which it's housed. At least a third of the space (half?) is given over to community outreach, including a stunning reading room which would instantly become a favorite spot if I were local (admission if free) Blend of traditional and modern pieces, it's also open later so if you are planning multiple stops in a day it's a nice fit at the end. Right by the old armory for example. Maybe over time they will expand the collection a bit, but I also understand its function as a quasi community arts center.

Went round the newly renovated Arts Center, which is stunning. Highly recommend it as a place for visitors to go.

The restaurant inside is spectacular with excellent, well presented food and professional, friendly service. Highly recommend.

The Arkansas Arts Center has moved as they are remodeling the one on 9th street. I went with my daughter and grand daughters to see Christmas Carol. It was awesome, as usual. We love the Arts Center!

What a wolderful buffett at Watercolors Rest yesterday with group of 10 friends. Food was fabulous and so was service. A bit towards expansive side ($27 from chilled soup to desserts and with excellent tea) but well worth it esp with a friend celebrating 85th birthday!
Sorry TAdv...will not allow scrumptious food pic!

We were in Little Rock primarily to visit the Central High School site, and found ourselves here almost accidentally on a Sunday of thunderstorms and rain a couple of weeks ago. We were very much time limited, but what we saw, not least the photographs of Frida Karhlo were new to us and provided a fresh perspective on her life and work

I've been visiting the Arkansas Arts Center since I was a child. I remember when it was just the original building and how much it improved when Mrs. Winthrop Rockefeller took it under her wing in the 1960's. It's bigger and better now, and I hear there are plans to improve it some more.

It's not a huge place, but it offers a lot. There are art exhibits, classes, lectures, and theater productions. I have watched it grow and change with the times and have enjoyed spending time there looking at the exhibits and participating in the activities.

We have not lived in Arkansas in several years, but when we come back to visit family, we try to make time to go to the Arts Center.

We are so fortunate to have this amazing facility in our state. Wonderful exhibit...Martin Muller is a genius! How gracious of him to share from his collection. We also enjoyed the Collector’s Exhibit plus seeing some of the Center’s new acquisitions. Kudos to all associated with the planning and execution of these remarkable exhibits.
