Awful experience, don’t book any events here

Customer care, or lack thereof, was absolutely disgusting. There’s not a better word to describe my experience. I booked in advance for 25 people, paying €250. I was told that they would offer a space for 20 people, but still, I would have to pay the full amount. Once I reached, there was one boot available that would accommodate 8 people max and I had to wait more than 45 minutes for the second boot to be available. I also booked two drink packages. €250 for 4 bottles of wine and 1 bottle of gin. They were also not available once I reached, and I had to ask for them multiple times. So far, not a great experience, but alright. I also had told management that the occasion was my birthday and graduation. I asked if it would be possible to bring a cake. They said that I was not allowed to bring anything, but they would provide a brownie. You can see the screenshots attached. When it was time, I had to ask 3 different people about it. They kept redirecting me to different bars, until finally a manager was called. I was told then told that they would not do anything about it and that I looked “happy enough” without it. Mind you, I was not drunk in the slightest, but even if that was the case, I personally find how the entire situation was handled extremely rude and unprofessional. After all of this, there were people sitting in one of the boot that I had booked and where me and my guest had put all of our coats and bags. I approached one of the bouncers, explaining the situation. I was told, and I quote verbatim, “who do you think you are? You don’t own the place”. When I asked what would happen if someone stole our belongings, I was told “it would be your fault”. In summary, rude staff, terrible customer care and service. If you are thinking about booking any event at Nolita, just don’t.

The area
Neighborhood: Nolita
Despite being just off of busy Houston Street, Nolita maintains a low-key vibe that makes it a pleasant retreat in the heart of lower Manhattan. Short for “North of Little Italy,” Nolita was once considered to be part of Little Italy. Today, the neighborhood is popular with young fashionistas popping in and out of the chic independent boutiques that line Mulberry, Mott and Elizabeth Streets. In addition to shopping, there are cozy restaurants and sidewalk cafes serving everything from new-school Italian food to the world-famous cronuts. While small in size (Nolita stretches just a few blocks in each direction), it’s a great neighborhood to spend an afternoon people watching, window-shopping, and grabbing a bite to eat.

Cool shops, jewelry stores, galleries and many fashion boutiques. Great to walk the narrow streets, explore the interesting stores and take a break in one of the many coffee shops and restaurants. Fun place.

Go to Nolita to see the fashionable people and realize how old and out of touch with style you have become. There are many big name stores where people queue up for the chance to go inside and shop. At the smaller stores you can come and go as you please. Quality Mending Company had interesting vintage clothes and a lot of Bob's Big Boy statues for some reason. Also worth checking out the Housing Works bookstore and thrift shop. Besides shopping, there is some very cool architecture like St. Patrick's Old Cathedral.

I lived in Nolita for years. It's one of the cutest neighborhoods in NYC! Nolita is just next to Little Italy, Chinatown and Soho. Some of my favorite places to check out are

1.Café Habana - Inexpensive Cuban food. You must order the grilled corn.
2.Gimme! Coffee- on Mott Street between Prince and Spring Street. Best coffee in NYC.
3.Prince Street Pizza- Worth the wait, usually has a long line. Order the Square Pepperoni Pizza! Best Pizza in NYC!
4.Tacombi Fonda Nolita on Elizabeth Street for Tacos.
5. Black Seed Bagels on Elizabeth. Freshly baked bagels. Try the herb cream cheese.
6. Elizabeth Street Garden-It's a community sculpture garden of nearly one acre in the Nolita neighborhood in New York City located on Elizabeth Street, between Prince & Spring streets. Open Daytime only. Really peaceful.
8. Ji Li Tui-Na Center- Best cheap Massage. 202 Mott St. Ask for JJ!

We had a great weekend at the Nolita hotel! The rooms were neat and clean and have a nice modern feel. We loved the happy hour with wine, cheese, olives and crackers. Also inviting was the delicious breakfast of fresh baked pastries, fresh fruit and yogurt. What a welcome start to our exploring the city streets & shops right outside. Only sad it was too cold to take the bikes for a spin! Staff was very helpful. Loved this view from our bed!
