Neighborhood: Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.

Department stores like Saks Fifth Avenue are full of desirable, high fashion merchandise. You can walk down Fifth Avenue to satisfy your desire for titillation, even if all you want is to window shop. If you want some retail therapy, there are plenty of things to chose from.Visited March 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten March 24, 2023

One day I visited the Museum of the City of New York way up at 95th St., the northernmost point of Museum Mile, a long stretch of swanky apartment building and amazing museums, all across from gorgeous Central Park. Midtown there are grand hotels and office buildings, also some very upscale shopping. And downtown I was in the northern part of Greenwich Village with NYU. So a lot to see. Once I was in a march and had the good fortune to walk down the center of the Avenue enjoying the splendid architecture.Visited May 2023Written July 25, 2023

In the song he talks about walking down 5th Avenue so I was keen to check it out. The road stretches from the Upper East Side south through Midtown and onwards. There are a few swanky shops on the road including Bloomingdales and Saks. There is also St Patrick's Cathedral and Rockerfeller Plaza. Worth checking out on your visit to the city.Visited October 2023Traveled soloWritten October 22, 2023

Fifth Avenue is infamous and where most of the parades run. St.Patrick’s Cathedral is a beautiful sight as is the Rockefeller Plaza. Long Avenue to explore.

Walking from 34th to 59th along 5th is a must-do experience in NYC. The Empire State Building, public library, Rockefeller Center, St. Patrick's Cathedral, and the famous stores such as Michael Kors, Tiffany's, Bergdorf Goodman, and many others can keep you busy for many hours,

Probably New York City's most famous street home to many upscale stores. Also where Saks fifth Avenue was founded.

Being Central NYC, made navigation of the city so easy! Awesome. You cannot get lost and access to the train stations were convenient
Great attractions and of course shopping
Nice for me was the more " quiet" feel.

How cold is it in New York from November 28 to 10 December
Justin W
Hasbrouck Heights, NJ3,734 contributions
That can be debatable with the weather the way it has been over the last few years. Last year is was really cold but between 2015-2016 it was in the 50's. Always bring a winter coat with you when visiting New York this time of year and then check the weather reports before you leave on the trip. You may want to pack a fall coat and sweaters as well.
