Any store of any note has an outlet on this street. You need a wallet stuffed with cash or an open ended credit card to buy everything that takes your eye - you can visit Tiffanys, Trump Tower, St Patricks Catherdral, the Rockefeller Centre, Best Buy and Starbucks all on the same street. It travels the whole length of Manhattan... More

It's one of those streets you just have to walk. It feels like walking in a movie at times, because you recognize so many buildings and places. Great walk, but again, be aware that things here are very overpriced, because of all the tourists.

Walking down the 5th Avenue may make you nostalgic as the charm of New York overwhelms you! Manhattan is a must visit for anybody who loves to be mesmerized. It is a great shopping place, with various options for eating as well. Once in a lifetime experience!

A trip to NY is not a trip without shopping on 5th Ave. Every designer you can think of has a store here and the windows are amazing. There is so much to do and see along this street that you will want to go back again and again.

I went via 5th Ave on my way from Grand Central to my hotel on 54th. Many of the same major shops are still there. You won't get much in the way of good pricing, but this is NYC. You still need to watch out in the small shops that sell souvenirs.

I went here to purchase an exotic fountain pen. The store had five people trying to help and none of them knew or understood the product. They wanted to charge me for ink and a converter for a 2300 dollar pen. Gayatri - one of the workers there - actually told me her manager was off so she couldn't answer... More

We wanted to walk a good part of 5th Avenue just to do it (and since it was Easter Time, humming "Easter Parade" which hi-lites 5th Ave. seemed to be the thing to do). The only store we walked into was Sak's 5th Ave. but alas walked out without a shopping bag. It was an amazing store.

Loads to see and buy, every shop imagineable. Very expensive though. Walk the full length and you arrive in Central Park which is nice. Of course everyone wants to see trump tower and this is at the Central Park end and is full of secret service and army, very weird

We save the Easter parade on 5th Avenue on Sunday 16th April. Amazing all those funny hats people were wearing.

We stayed at the Waldorph on 5rth Avenue and it was perfect base and central for all the well known attractions. A must if you visit New York.

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
