A perfect (and awe inspiring) Tribute
Apr 2021
The sadness prevails, but the majesty of the tribute to each soul is evident in the pools. The thought that went into creating this marvelous creation gives everyone the opportunity to honor the many who perished and NEVER FORGET! Each name has been placed as close to their demise as possible. A White Rose is placed on each name on their birthday. Visitors can put other colored flowers or flags and such perfectly in the engraving. The water is so perfectly cascading to drown out all other noises in the footprint of the biggest disaster in my lifetime. Go and honor the lost and marvel on how we are resilient and never forget.

Solemn but beautiful
Dec 2019 • Solo
This is a beautiful area and so peaceful even though it’s close to a busy highway. The only noise you hear really is the waterfalls on the memorials. It’s a lovely place to visit to pay respects to the people who lost their lives in 9/11

Sobering 9/11 Reminder
Oct 2019
The two pools gave me goosebumps, a sad reminder of what occurred in 2001. Sad feeling for innocent lives lost, souls departed too soon . . .

A piece of history that everyone must see
Oct 2019
No visit to the 9/11 memorial is complete without walking around the two memorial pools that stand on the spot where the Twin Towers stood. I really liked the fact that there were staff there to ensure no one put objects onto the surface where the names of those who lost their lives are etched into. I also loved how some of the names had single flowers beside them.

Enjoyed seeing the outside of the Trade Center even though we weren't able to go inside this time. Park was rather peaceful.

Somber & Thought Provoking
Dec 2019
We wanted to visit the site just to pay our respects, I found it all very moving and thought provoking, seeing all those names on the memorial brings a lump to the throat, there was a single white rose placed by one of those names which we learned the City places a rose on that persons name when it is their birthday. Didn't have time to visit the museum but hope to get the chance to do that on another visit some day.

A place to remember.

We have been here a few times. This is a nice memorial. There are flowers put on the persons name on their birthday so any given day, you will see fresh flowers sticking out of a name.

Emotional
Mar 2020
9/11 is one of those days I remember like it was yesterday. I visited NYC for the first time in 1996 and I saw the Twin Towers from the Statue of Liberty. Little did I know that would be the last time I would see them in person. I visited New York about two or three times before this was established and was just a massive clean up. It was nice to see a tribute for all those who lost their lives. It honors not just Americans, it honors those from other nations who lost their sons and daughters as well. You can hear a pin drop hear. A great memorial to those who sadly perished on that infamous day.
