This is a gorgeous river great for canoeing and Kayaking. Offers many levels of experience depending on water levels and where you put in at. A must for any outdoorsman!

Buffalo river doesn't overwhelm you with grandiosity, it steals your heart a little at a time. Camping, hiking, swimming, canoeing, kayaking and more and so much easier to get to than the big one in AZ. This is a place to wander, discover and flow...More

Lost Valley was beautiful, but no water there during the summer. Also not always an easy hike - lots of steps. Swimming at Pruitt's Landing was nice - almost no current and warm water. Wear water shoes due to the rocks.

We take a canoe trip each year and this year we decided to try the Buffalo. The river was low but it was great. The views were worth the paddling in the slower pools. We want to go back when we can do the upper...More

You can do it yourself or through canoe rental. Most rental prefer reservations because it is hard to predict otherwise.

Lots of places. Go online and look up Buffalo River Outfitters or Wild Bills - it really depends on what the river level is. The prettiest floats are Ponca to the Pruitt area - but it's sometimes low in the summer since that... More
