Neighborhood: Downtown
The largest area of the city, Downtown is rich with historical and iconic sites in Boston. Stroll through one of Boston’s most famous green spaces, the Boston Public Gardens, check out and make way for duckling statues, picnic under a beautiful tree overlooking the pond, and walk over the iconic footbridge where, during summer time, you will catch a swan boat toting children and eager tourists through the pond. Have your camera ready to capture its peaceful beauty in the middle of a bustling city. Continue on through the Gardens and take in some open green space at the Boston Common, where you can spend time throwing a frisbee, sitting on a park bench, or, in the winter time, skating on the frog pond. Head north from the end of the Common to see the golden dome of the State House, and travel through government center to Quincy Market and Faneuil Hall, both a historic and popular destination worth a quick visit for a first time to Boston. Head to Long Wharf to visit the Aquarium, or catch a boat to Charlestown or even Cape Cod.

Hint giver was super helpful when needed, and the entire experience was super fun! I would definitely recommend coming here if you're nearby and looking for indoor activities.

The one star is meant for the bad customer expirence. We booked two games: Cartman at 7:20pm and Clocktower at 8:20pm, as enthusiasts we try to play as many rooms as we can once in a company, especially in this case considered we came from Italy to specifically play these rooms. The first game was pretty fine, we started on time but we didn't manage to get out within the 60 mins (in two is quite challenging). We were happy to have the master walking us through the few puzzles remained and sharing our thoughts on the room. We moved then in the second game and while the 2nd master was doing the briefing the timer was already started, she closed the door and we waited a few moments to see the timer resetting at 60 minutes given it was already ticking 45 mins. But nothing happened. We decided to walk out of the room asking clarification and the answer was : "you were in late". I felt a little bit puzzled. The same person who told us to be late was the same who checked us in. She mentioned about policy stuff and we should know the timer would have started regardless. But why she haven't mentioned that during the check in? A "friendly remainder" would have been appreciated, something like "guys I see you signed two waivers, you have two rooms, you MUST rush otherwise...blahblah" ... would have been sufficient to not spoil the entire experience. We abandoned the game as we understood it wasnt worth it, they are not interested in giving high quality experience. We received afterwards an email with a cancellation without a refund, but we don't want it. We decided to avoid playing with this company. We will never know if ClockTower would have been worth a nomination in the TERPECA. A note for the enthusiasts: watch out booking back to back rooms, and bring with you a nappy if you need a toilet break.

SO much fun! Super friendly staff and clues were not too easy but not too hard. Definitely a great activity to do in the city. The only thing is that some clues were supposed to be shown for us on a TV in the room, and we were supposed to be alerted to the clues with a doorbell noise, however sometimes the noise wasn't apparent so we may have missed a couple of the clues. Overall, really fun and creative experience!

Escape the Room Boston was a super fun experience that I would 100% recommend! The staff were super friendly and accommodating. My friends and I had 4:20 reservations but we’re running late. The staff was able to accommodate us and still give us the full hour of time no problem. The puzzles themselves were very tricky but doable! With our group of 7, we were able to solve the clock tower with just 3 minutes to spare. It was the perfect activity for a bachelorette party!

We've been barely welcomed, the game master had no clue about what she was doing. Some of the hints were hidden in unusual places (but we were tall so no issues). The game was interrupted a couple of times by the game supervisor (?), who was pretty aggressive with us.
On the plus side, the story was a good one and we were well-supported when we were stuck.

We booked Escape the Room Boston as part of my sister’s bachelorette, and we were really excited to participate. When we got there though, a few minutes after everyone signed in we were told that the equipment in the room wasn’t working and we wouldn’t be able to have the event. At first they offered to have us come back an hour later, but after refreshing the computer the only options for another available room was around 5 hours later, and by that time the bachelorette would be over. It was disappointing because we had to scramble to find something else to do for our trip into Boston. Also, while equipment failures certainly happen, it’s been almost two weeks and we still haven’t received a refund for the tickets we were charged for, which totaled close to $400. We would not recommend Escape the Room Boston.

We love doing escape rooms, and we have been able to play many from the east to the west coast! We chose Escape the Room Boston, as it was very close to our hotel. The staff was so friendly and welcoming! We were a little concerned as the bathroom & waiting area was quite dirty, but our escape adventure was clean! Our three member team enjoyed the challenge of the The Apartment. It was the perfect number of people for this room, as the clues are very sequential and everyone must work together moving forward. Too many people in this room & the majority would not have anything to do! The staff was helpful providing clues when we were obviously stuck, and we were able to escape with plenty of time to spare! Super Fun!!

Definitely an escape room. Overpriced considering there are better options for less and disappointed that the timer ran faster than actual time (they say one hour, we only got 40 minutes despite arriving 20 minutes before our scheduled time). The concept and set is good (for the clock tower), but the puzzles aren’t correlated to the story and makes it confusing to navigate, especially considering how few hints you get even when clearly lost.
