We spent a super morning going out on the first boat from Boston returning on the 13:00. Well worth the trip. As well as great views of Boston by boat, the island was full of interesting history, a very well preserved fort, and friendly rangers...More

The kids 9, 15 1/2 and I did a weekend of "vacation in your own backyard" with the focus on going to the Boston Harbor Islands. We intended to do more than George's Island but we found enough to do on George's to keep us...More

A super day! The ferry ride is classic fun! The island itself is simply fascinating. One can delve into the history of the island or simply explore the unique fort and grassy lawns. The snack shop was crowded and poorly staffed during our visit and...More

Quite apart from the lovely (and very reasonable at $17 return ticket) boat trip out to the island, this is a thoroughly interesting place to visit. When you arrive you should make sure you watch the brief film (about 9 minutes long) in the Welcome...More
