This is a nice detour after visiting the Sutro Baths. Was disappointed there were no tulips, but still had beautiful flowers and a nice grassy area where people could have a picnic.

The reconstructed windmills might be a common view in the Netherlands, but it was a refreshing thing to see in San Francisco.
There's a small garden, dedicated to the late Dutch queen next to one of the windmills.

Is the windmills are one of the many interesting features of Golden Gate Park. I know the windmills are very much like the windmills. She will see in Kinderdyke, Holland. Drive, bike or walk down the ocean side of the park to see them.

It's quite funny to visit a small part of the Golden Gate Park that copies mayor elements of my country, the folkloric elements, let's say: tulips and mills, It was a bit weird because we were in San Francisco. When you're from the Netherlands, this place only surprises you because of the location. In my own country we have more of this...

There are 2 windmills at the western most end of Golden Gate Park. The Dutch Windmill is at the north corner and has a beautiful tulip garden which was in full bloom the 3rd week of March. It’s a very small park with the windmill and tulips gardens in the immediate area but is a must see particularly in spring when the flowers are in bloom.
There are no public restrooms and there can be many people even in slow times because the park is very small. We loved the park and would highly recommend visiting.
At the other corner of the south end of Golden Gate Park is the Murphy Windmill which has just a Windmill to see along with a small keepers house and a couple placards with history but nothing else in that immediate area.

There are two Dutch windmills on the West end of the park. Both are in excellent condition and much larger than I would have expected. Unfortunately, you can't go inside them- only view them from outside.

Its always fun to see the wind mills when in San Francisco. They are located in Golden Gate Park and is close to the beach area. In the spring its a good place to see tulips.

The area is beautiful year round and the windmills alone are worth seeing. We've been many times and it never disappoints!

are the tulips in bloom NOW? if not now, have they come and gone? OR yet to come?

Not sure. Best to check with the Park Ranger's office or the local botanlogical office to see what is in bloom. There is a conservatory down the road from the tulips and they should be able to answer your question.
