About
One of the city's most popular park located between the Mission District and the Castro/Noe Valley neighborhoods. On sunny afternoons people flock to the park to play, picnic, lounge, walk their dogs, and enjoy spectacular views of the city's skyline and beyond. Please remember to pack out your trash, use cans instead of glass, and don't leave cigarette butts behind. This is a Leave no Trace park and bins are located around the perimeter of the park.

It caught our attention to see the train crossing one of its slopes. Nice views of the center.Visited May 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten June 4, 2024
- Thomas VOakland, California19,103 contributionsSunny, Activities, ViewsMaybe the most popular park in town, especially on a sunny day, and maybe because it is located in the middle of a very densely-populated area. So people come outdoors for sun (it's SF's most sunny neighborhood) and for fun with all the activities. Lots of people gather for picnics. And there are great views of the city.Visited September 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten September 28, 2024
- Lina EKuala Lumpur, Malaysia3,604 contributionsFun, Views, and Space at Dolores Park!!Dolores Park is a fantastic spot with something for everyone. It offers plenty of open space for dogs to run and play, making it a favorite for pet owners. Families will appreciate the well-maintained playground, which is great for kids. On clear days, the park provides stunning views of the city skyline, offering a perfect backdrop for picnics, relaxing, or simply enjoying the outdoors. Whether you’re there for a casual stroll, a game of frisbee, or to take in the beautiful surroundings, Dolores Park is a vibrant and welcoming destination.Visited November 2024Traveled soloWritten November 11, 2024

As an event photographer, I'm always looking for venues that provide for a nice backdrop such as a view of the city. Dolores park is great for picnics or just spending time with friends and family. There's also a nice playground for kids and tennis courts for the public.

I was staying close by and wandered to the park at night. The city view from there is one of the most amazing sparkling panoramas I have ever seen. Peaceful and full of dog people, lined with Victorian homes...Dolores park is a jewel.

This park is extremely popular and located in a densely-populated area, so expect crowds. It is located in one of the sunniest parts of town, so often good weather. Great for sun bathing and for a picnic and there are some great views.

I went to this park with friends who live in the area. We walked up to the topside of the park which just seemed like a normal park. Then I turned around to face the bay. What a gorgeous view. If you are in the area, stop there for a great view of the skyline. Most people in the park are picnicking and just enjoying being outside.

On a sunny San Francisco day you might want to check Mission Delores Park at 18th St and Delores St. This is a gathering spot for locals on a typical sunny SF day. Rolling green grass, childrens play structure, tennis courts and genuine laziness. Bring a sandwich, sit back and people watch. Great way to spend an afternoon in San Francisco.

We went to Mission Dolores Park, which is one of the most popular park in San Francisco. It’s a fine place to rest when you visit Mission district, with many lush green lawns and palm trees.
For families with children, there are also picnic areas and playgrounds.

This is a perfect urban park, absolutely full of people especially on weekends. Good place for a picnic and on a sunny day, everyone is out catching rays. Plus the tennis courts. Some attractive houses around.

I was not expecting such a magnificent view of the SF skyline from the top of Mission Dolores park! What a surprise! Otherwise, this is a very beautiful, busy park, with lots of installment for the kids and adults alike. It is close to the Bi-Rite creamery, so also a great place to enjoy an ice cream cone. And it is super accessible, at the top of the park is the tram which will take you all the way down Market street to the Embarcadero!

Hi Douglas. It sounds like you have lived in the area of Dolores Park for a many years. What would you like us to do better around the park. Last summer the neighborhood organizations have started an initiative "Dolores Park Ambassadors" to help keep the park safe and clean. I believe we have made great progress since last July. Which day were you there? Please join the Ambassadors! Everybody - please help the park stay clean and safe. It is a jewel of San Francisco. Join the neighborhood meeting on Feb 21 at 6 pm at the Dolores Park Church 455 Dolores Street. Please look out for us in the Park! Hans Kolbe

Open for suggestions, I've been to SF twice and thoroughly enjoyed almost everything east of hwy 101. Other than the GGB and NAPA, I've been as far as Tenderloin and turned around. Can I walk or ride a bike to other fun/safe places west of 101 without feeling like my life is in danger? Thanks
Written October 9, 2017
Do you mean west of 101 in the city? If so of course. You're talking Castro to the ocean. If you're talking Marin. Now you're talking my tamalpais etc. all safe.
