About
Known around the world for its Victorian row homes, this spectacular hilltop park is an ideal spot for taking photos. The park is currently undergoing renovations and will reopen Spring 2017. While under construction, a viewing area will remain open to see the infamous Painted Ladies. Please remember to pack out your trash as this is a Leave No Trace Park.

    Beautiful City
Beautiful City with beautiful neighborhoods. It was a quick trip. I went to see Bryan Adams at a short notice and spent almost three days. I took three tours. Used the city muni and Uber. I hope to go back and spend more time like the wineries salsalito Muir Woods and the Golden Gate Park where the tea room is

An absolute must! An iconic city that you definitely need to visit if heading to the states
Loved every minute of our visit to San Francisco. Every thing was easily accessible, from airport to hotel in union square on the train. The tram was a great way to get to the harbour and the boat rides were great. Alcatraz and the Golden gate bride a must.

    Great Area to Visit
I visited Alamo Square on the Big Bus Tour as there were frequent busses every 15-20 minutes. Alamo Square was a very smart district of the city where people visit to photograph the Painted Ladies. The park at the Square affords commanding views of the city, and is well worth the visit.

Beautiful view of the city overlooking the bay. The Full House houses across the street. We were on a Hop On/Off bus and was very easy to get to from the stop.

Wonderful views from up here AND if you want to see the "Painted Ladies" you can kill two birds with one stone. The park is really lovely to walk, and on this Saturday there were tons of dogs (I am dog obsessed) so I was in heaven watching them all running around. We had trekked up here to check out the Painted Ladies, but the treat was the views of the skyline (great photos!) and the lovely park itself. Proximity walk to Hayes St. was great for us as well to walk down and have a late breakfast.

A beautiful spot in SF, Alamo Square is a great option for a relaxed afternoon. The views of the city, the houses in the neighbourhood & the garden combine to make it a delightful experience.

When we went the trees were a bit overgrown therefore covering the iconic homes. It wasn't too crowded but it wasn't picnic friendly open space either.

Overall worth a 5 minute stopover.

This park has great views of a lot of the city, and the main reason for visiting is the painted houses, as seen on my films. The park has a little coffee van, lots of benches and a dog park. I’m sure in the summer a picnic and blanket would be great.
You could pop through as we did or spend hours here. It’s peaceful and a rest bite in the city.
Please just note if walking here from the Union Square area, you will pass many homeless people, many on drugs. We didn’t encounter issues but it wasn’t the best experience.

Came to this park to take pictures of The Painted Ladies and to take a breather from our sightseeing vacation. We sat in the grass for a while and took in the sights and the people.
We were lucky to find a parking spot next to the park but we never lost sight of our car (lots of smash-and-go burglars) even though we stored everything in the trunk.

Don’t park your car near Alamo park. The windows will likely be smashed in. Take an uber or walk to the park but be cautious. It’s nice to take a few pictures but that’s it.
