This is a nice neighborhood with good views of the bay but getting around on foot means having to climb steep hills. Some streets are so steep that cars are required to park perpendicular to the street and it takes quite an effort to either open or close the car doors depending on which side of the car you are in.

We took the Pacific Heights Mansions tour with John Nockels who is with San Francisco City Guides. He was very familiar with the neighborhood as he lives in the neighborhood. The Pacific Heights zip code is the most expensive in San Francisco. Pacific Heights commands a great view of the San Francisco Bay extending from the Golden Gate to downtown San Francisco and all around 360 degrees at its highest point. We saw homes on the so-called Billionaires Row. There is a lot of history with the rich and famous of California from the days of the 49ers to the present day. We saw homes on not so large lots that sold for over $10 million. We started from Alta Plaza Park and walked around the neighborhood a few blocks from the park to get just a flavor of the community and the personalities that lived or are currently living in this great location.

This is the richest part of the city so it is full of classy upscale buildings, gorgeous mansions and fantastic apartment buildings. Lots of good views of the Bay and Golden Gate as well.

We walked up the hill from Cow Hollow to Pacific Heights and it was workout. Did I mention I pushed a double stroller up the 370 foot climb? Good thing the neighborhood was worth visiting and enjoying. We had dinner and dessert and spent some time around the area.

Just loved our drive through Pacific Heights. The houses are incredible and you have to take the time to see the amazing architecture.

Armed with a 3 day cable car passport it was easy to get around to all the pretty sights of San Francisco and I enjoyed the climb up and down the streets of Pacific Heights. The homes are pretty and painted with lovely colours. Cant imagine what it must feel like to wake up to the view of the bay each day.

......is it THAT expensive? I loved it but honestly it’s ridiculously priced. I enjoyed the homes with a Lyft tour!

We very much enjoyed strolling around the lovely streets, hills and parks of this special neighbourhood.

A wonderful variety of architectural styles are to be admired. Ascending the hills gave marvellous vistas of the city, in some cases extending to the bay itself.

Grand parks include Lafyaette and the smaller but still pleasant Allyne. Adjacent to the latter is the grand Octagon House, well worth a visit.

Another fascinating attraction is the Haas–Lilienthal House that gives an engaging window onto life in past times.

This is where the rich have always lived, now the super-rich. Some lovely architecture here, but not much life.
