We were hoping to see parrots, but did not. But its a pleasant park with a grand church and a nice little playground. Nice pitstop on our way to Chinatown.

This is a very pretty park in the middle of North Beach. It's a densely-populated part of town so there are always people around using the green space. The big church is a nice attraction on the park.

This is an OK green area with a lovely backdrop of the St. Peter's and Paul's church.
Having said that, stay clear of the place starting the late afternoon into the night as it feels unsafe.

A pleasant green space near to little Italy. We went into a cafe and say outside overlooking the comings and goings. The church is a lovely backdrop

It's the area and the people who make this a nice square and a good place to relax after a long walk. Or perhaps I was lucky.

Nice Urban Park in a great part of San francisco. There are definitely some creepy people here at times, but it's a beautiful Green space next to a big historic church. Tons of great Italian restaurants nearby.

Washington Square is in the North Beach district of San Francisco. It’s a great place to relax and a super place for dogs.

Washington Square Park is perfectly located in center of 4 of San Francisco must sees ( Coit Tieer, Chinatown, Fisherman’s Wharf and Lombard St and Garden). And it’s right across from Saints Peter and Paul Church. One of the most gorgeous and majestic twin tower architect church in US.

There is an Benjamin Franklin statute and a Fireman Memorial statue in the Park.

There are restaurants and cafe along the two sides of the square. Plenty place to eat or Happy Hour drink. You can also buy some dim sum from Chinatown which is only couple blocks away. And eat them on the park bench; while soaking in the sun ray (vitamin D) or simply just relax and take a little nap & rest up for your next destination or adventure.

You can take bus 8, 30, 45, 91 to get to this square or take Powell Mason cable car (but you need to walk for 1 block or so).

If you come here to visit Saints Peter and Paul Church, then the tranquil Washington Square is an added bonus as a nice neighborhood park; otherwise there is not much to do here except for people watching
