For us it was one of the highlights of the visit to the city. Cycling over the bridge was just amazing, the size and construction feat is incredible. Get the ferry back from Sausalito adds to the enjoyment of the day.

Having rented basically free bikes near Fisherman’s Wharf, we were thrilled to be able to cycle along the beach towards Crissy Field, towards the Battery below the south end of the bridge and had lunch at the appropriately named Warming Hut, before starting the ascent...More

Bussed over on the hop on/off bus, and boated under, and survived the bike ride across even with vertigo. A huge gust of wind just after the first column once on the bridge. Put on your windbreaker before turning the last corner. Nice lunch at...More

Visited at the end of July and even though we had read enough to know to bring jackets and that there might be fog, I guess I didn't realize that meant it would be that way for our whole trip so we never really got...More

Unfortunately, it was cloudy in the morning, so we could not see the whole bridge. We first drove over the bridge, and later walked on it. It is for sure busy on the road as the pavement, lots of tourist standing in the middle of...More

We rented electric bikes to ride across the bridge. It was really crowded but still very fun. We rode on a beautiful sunny Sunday. Dress in layers because I can imagine that when the fog comes in it can be very cold.

make sure not to visit this beautiful landmark on a foggy day, you might not see a thing! but on a clear day it's amazing.

We hired bikes to cycle across to the town on the other-side. The bridge is amazing and there are some stunning views. It is busy so just take it easy. Some medium inclines so need to be fit enough to push the bike up if...More

Took the hoho bus over the bridge and on to Sausalito. Very enjoyable. Caught the ferry back to fisherman’s wharf. Recommend

Found a groupon from Alcatraz bike rentals and rode across the Golden Gate Bridge. Excellent experience! Rode into Sausalito and ate lunch, then rode the ferry back with our bikes.
