See this magnificent structure up close was an awesome experience. Just driving across and stopping to take in the view is great. Didn’t realize there was a ferry ride to Alcatraz, so it on the bucket list part 2. Would recommend as a must see.

A Must See in San Francisco
This is a magnificent bridge in one of the most picturesque settings in the world. It was one of the places that we really want to see when we came to San Francisco. We were on a BigBus Tour and although it was really cold crossing over the bridge it was great once we got to the North Vista Point stop. We got to take lots of pictures including one of us with the Golden Gate Bridge behind us. I'm really glad we got the opportunity to see this while we were here in San Francisco. I would definitely recommend this to anybody wanting to see the iconic Golden Gate Bridge on their trip to San Francisco.

    Colossal Golden Gate
Wait until around noon for the fog to clear if you want a fog-free photo of the bridge. I've always wanted to see the Golden Gate bridge and finally had the chance in May 2023. Park your car or take an uber/lyft to Battery East parking lot for an unobstructed view of the bridge.

    Iconic
Come for one of the iconic viewpoints in the whole of USA. In fact there are multiple viewpoints across both sides of the bridge. WE were fairly limited on time so were satisfied with the view from the South side of the bridge. There is a small shop and welcome centre here though fairly minimal exhibits. There are however multiple great vantage points even just on the same side of the bridge so we spent about 45 minutes wandering around taking photos from different angles, which all came out great.

    Lovely!
This was lovey. So aww inspiring. Instead of doing the boat cruise to the bridge, we drove over it and went to the other side and took pictures. No need to pay for the cruises, unless you want to take pictures from that angle.

Biked it, seen it, done it
Been there done that. If you are in San Fran you got to do it right? We hired bikes from Blazing Bikes and took off. Road across the bridge and back again. Did not want to carry on and find the ferry to get back. We enjoyed the bike ride, loved the scale of the bridge but no need to do again. Just one of a few things you should do when in San Fran - that is the only reason it gets the higher review than I would give it. Enjoyed riding all around the place on way back to Blazing Bikes.

    Well worth the visit
Whether you drive or walk, the experience of driving or walking over this legendary bridge is a must when you are in San Francisco. On good days with little fog you get a great view of the city and on bad days when the deep heavy fog hits, you get a very eerie feeling. If walking across, there are dedicated lanes for bikes and pedestrian's. There are also Information boards about the bridge as you go across.

    Iconic site…….
Another iconic location that we had to see and experience while in the city. We travelled over both ways in the hop on, hop off bus and then again by bike later on. There is a nice cafe at the city end and some great locations on the hill on the other side to get photos from. Not much more to say really - it’s pretty cool just to go over it.

Bucket list item must see, but be prepared for crowds.
We traveled through this area on a Sunday, early afternoon, and it was extremely congested. The visitors center parking lot wasn't open, so there were gazillions of cars trying to find parking. People walked for miles to get a view of the bridge (this is the reason for only 4 stars). We were able to check off a bucket list item, but we got out of there as fast as we could, and we don't need a redo.

    Breathtaking Experience
Seeing the bridge for the first time literally took my breath away. The size and majesty of it were more than I expected. We drove up to multiple spots to get different views. Be prepared for crowds and limited parking. Also be prepared for it to be cooler than you expected. Don’t bother fixing your hair because the wind is insane. There were a few times at the last stop we made for a picture that I thought the wind was going to blow me down. It is totally worth all the hype and is a must do for anybody visiting San Francisco.

We loved walking over the bridge and back again. Going it took us 45mins and coming back it took 35mins for the 2.5k. We thought we had a good pace going but when you google this the average is 30mins. The views are wonderful and you can take any pace and the cyclists are very respectful of walkers. We felt safe and enjoyed the views from the other side and of the bridge. Rookie error and always check there is running water to wash your hands after soaping at the makeshift toilets, mmmm as they must have run out of water the day we were there. Wear plenty and perhaps a beanie as it is windy on the bridge. Liz and Michael Melbourne, Australia

More too it than I thought. They had a beautiful display setup showing it’s construction. An outside demonstration you could experiment with to show the physics behind its design. We walked across the bridge which took about 35 mins and took loads of photos. We’ll worth the trip!

Very cool! If you have the time. Walk the bridge! It took us about an hour to go and come back. Stay to the right if you are a walker.

When discussing about San Francisco, one of the first things that come to mind for many people is the Golden Gate Bridge, one of the most famous bridges in the United States.

The beautiful red hue of the Golden Gate attracts travelers from around the world, and we were among them. We visited San Francisco to witness its beauty firsthand, and it did not disappoint us in the slightest. The Golden Gate Bridge is immense and possesses undeniable charm.

We drove up the hill to the Golden Gate View Point, where we could admire the entire bridge from a wide angle. From this vantage point, we beheld the bridge against the backdrop of San Francisco, creating an incredibly beautiful scene. We highly recommend this spot to anyone looking for the best view of the Golden Gate Bridge; a short hike from the parking area will reward you with an unforgettable memory.

Walk across it, or bike it. We loved the views of it on the way as we walked from Chrissy fields and then across and down into Sausalito where we got the ferry back to SF. One of our best days in SF.

Firstly, San Francisco is amazing and one of the best US cities. Secondly, that bridge is the prettiest location there, where it is quite cheerful and enjoyable to drive through it, and when it comes to its watching, there are amazing elevated spots to view it in a picturesque sense and to see it inspiring and pretty. Such view spots are noticed clearly on google maps. One final tip is that the drive through the bridge is subjected to electronic tolls.

The Golden Gate Bridge took our breath away. We first were able to view it from the Battery Spencer Overlook which offered several areas to pull off and park to see this amazing view!
