    For WWII buffs
Interesting historical site to see beyond all the tourist traps. It was mostly empty when we went, so we were able to listen to the audio tour aloud on our phone. Wish there was a live person to tell stories or give more info. Took maybe 1/2 hour. A bit pricey….but teen enjoyed.

    Must Do!
We stumbled across this gem while walking in and out of all things on the Fisherman’s Wharf. Great history and what a way to try to even slightly imagine what it was like for those great American heroes at that time. $25 donation to tor the sub. It is kind of freaky because the sub still moves with the waves.

Nice way to spend an hour or so
We had a visit to this as part of the Big Bus Hop On Hop Off ticket so visited it on our final day in San Francisco to pass a bit of time. They had a QR code on the ticket kiosk to get the audio tour on your phone which worked well. Nice to see a bit of history.

    pricey for the experience
Very interesting to see a decommissioned sub in the middle of a tourist area. There were not many people visiting, and it was rather pricey. However, there is an associated WWII museum just across from the ship that you can visit free with some interesting exhibits (very small).

We were told about this attraction before we arrived and had some spare time, so went and had a look. It is very interesting and is well preserved but probably a bit overpriced for what you get. In any case, it is worth a look while in the area.

The sub is interesting but it’s small and not as impressive as other museums. It’s also very pricey. The free audio guide is a nice idea but it’s far too long for the size of the sub and you would struggle to spend 50 minutes on it.

There was only one other person on the sub around 3:30 on a Thursday. It was pretty neat. For the audio, you scan a QR code and play it on your phone. I didn’t have any headphones so was playing it out loud. Maybe because I was alone and the sun was empty, I kept going too fast for the audio.

This was such a great visit. We are able to board and walk though a historic submarine. I couldn't imagine all the men on there at once. Very good experience.

I passed on this sub visit but my husband really enjoyed it. The audio tour was very good, and he was the only one there at the time so he could be as slow as he liked!

Our whole family went to see this vintage submarine. The price was included in our GO pass so I didn't feel too bad when my wife and kids raced through the boat in 15 minutes.

I worked my way slowly through the compartments reading what information was presented. Seeing the technology of the time and the limited space for so many men is fascinating to me. I certainly learned a lot and really enjoyed the tour.

I guess my one negative comment is that you cannot enter the conning tower. I thought this was possible with the sub that is on display in Pearl Harbor and such a critical area would be amazing to see. Even being able to climb the ladder and poke your head into that space would be better than nothing.

Nevertheless, I greatly enjoyed my tour of this WWII classic.
