The beach got too hot; walking back to our hotel we peeked into Western Frontier Village. I'd wanted to try a shooting range. The wide selection of pistols and reasonable prices convinced me to try here. One staff member recommended a course with 2 revolvers and one semi-auto handgun, and with that I stepped into the range (still wearing a swimsuit and slippers). My companion stayed outside to watch, but three Japanese tourists entered for a similar course. Another staff member provided clear instructions in fluent English and fluent Japanese. It was clear that SAFETY was the top concern. Loading, holding, and firing the first gun was a trip. After 3 shots I was shaking and wanted to finish the other 27 bullets as soon as possible. The instructor reviewed our targets after we all finished the first six shots. I was relieved to see the other customers were nervous too --- we shared a laugh, despite the language barrier! At the end, to my surprise, the staff scored the target and sent me home with a certificate and small gift. This visit greatly exceeded my expectations. Thanks!
