My family rented a house on Naupaka St so we made several treks to Laie Point. It’s absolutely beautiful anytime of day, sunrise being my favorite. It’s awfully bumpy the closer you get to the very end of the point, but there’s a relatively clear path which makes it a little easier to not go tumbling down some lava rock.

I loved this park with the breathtaking views. I’ve been to Hawaii many times and wasn’t sure anything would surprise me. I was wrong. Stopped by here on my last morning in Hawaii and it was totally worth it. Yeah, there isn’t much parking, but it is at the end of a neighborhood. Awesome sunrise location not to be missed!

Fabulous location to see the waves up by the North Shore.
The waves reached great heights while slamming on the rocks. The sounds of the waves and the smell of the ocean at this level was enjoyed by all. It attracts large groups of folks.

We had passed this place over last year, but glad we stopped. It was a windy day and the ocean was churning, but we were mesmerized by the beauty of Laie Point. It is literally at the end of a small subdivision, decent parking. Get out of the car and walk around the point - beautiful scenery on either side - wave crashing into the rock formation, stunning shades of blue in the ocean...take your camera!

Little park at the end of a dead end with really beautiful views. Walk out on the lava and the island arch is just off shore, very picturesque. Nice place to see the sun set too.

Driving on Kamehameha Hwy you will turn on Anemoku Street just across from the Foodland Gas Station in Laie town. If you enjoy watching big crashing waves, Laie point will not disappoint you. The rugged peninsula is pretty crazy with waves continuously crashing against the Sea Arch and other rock formations close by. We went during winter and had a good show. Be careful and stay away from the edges as waves can be unpredictable. I read that it’s a famous spot for cliff jumping during summertime for the thrill seekers.

Laie Point is a rugged peninsula with big swells and crashing waves in a neighborhood in Laie. There is not much parking, but the view is fantastic and it is nice to watch the ocean. If you have the time, Laie Point is well worth some of it.

If you are not the sort to take risks, then a visit to Laie Point will only occupy about 10 to 15 minutes of your time. Just stop by to watch the waves crash on the rocks and to see the arch on the adjacent island.
If you are up for more adventure, and if the conditions are right, then you can also have some fun leaping into the ocean here. When you pull into the parking area and are facing the ocean ahead of you, turn to your right and walk to the cliff edge. Once there, you will find some concrete rectangles at the edge of the cliffs. These are the places that locals and adventurous tourists use to jump from the cliffs. The spot closest to the houses seemed to be the better spot.
I would advise that you check the tide times and aim for a higher tide. When I was here, the water was a little shallow and a few folks were hitting the bottom during their jumps. The best (safest) method seemed to be to go in feet first and then curve your body horizontally back towards the surface as soon as possible. I didn't touch the bottom a single time using this method. I also tried to wait for a wave to come in so that the water would be even deeper before I jumped.
Once you're in the water, the current can be a little strong, but if you're a decent swimmer, you should have no trouble getting to the exit point. Look for a large crack in the rock leading back up to the cliff top. A little bit of light scrambling is required to get out, but it isn't too difficult.
I noticed lots of glass on the ground at the top of the cliff, so you might want to wear water shoes for this location. There are no facilities at the point, so you'll also want to arrive already wearing your swimming gear. The ocean can get rough here, so make sure that you scope out the waters before you jump. If it doesn't look safe, then skip the jump and try another day.

Go pick up some food from Papa Ole and drive up to the point and enjoy. I am so glad that my hubby made me go. I could have watched forever. Even enjoy looking at the photos I took, over and over. Definitely go if you are getting a little desensitized to all the beauty on Oahu, this is so different. Just a note that it is all rock to view so either bring a chair or sit in the car and enjoy the view.
