This is a lovely accessible beach with ample parking. Beautiful sand and water. Locals were present which I personally like a great deal.

On all internet sites it says dogs are allowed there. Not one sign did I see posted about no dogs allowed. Lifeguards are cowards and go up to kids and tell them to get rid of the dog, no adult was approached.

Amazing beach with plenty of free parking. This is one of the few beaches that did not have homeless camps. They have bathrooms and showers. The sand is white and has no rock in the surf. Love the beach. Make sure you do not leave anything valuable out and try to put things in the truck prior to parking. All beaches seem to have theft issues and this one is patrolled but don’t take any chances.

Looks like a locals beach. We came here around 6p. There were smaller waves and plenty of surfing going on. There are bathrooms, showers and lifeguards available. This looks like a locals spot. Pretty views of the coast line and Waikiki

There were some very nice waves with lots of surfers when we stopped by near sunset.

Beware of the fire ants; a couple of them got onto my feet and bit me as I was walking across the grass back to the car.

We love visiting this beach since it is so close to us. It is one of our go to beaches. Normally it is not too crowded and the waves are gentle. We have seen seals on the beach and my daughter was able to swim with one on a different occasion. If you are a military member you can rent boards there and enjoy time in the water. There is a lifeguard there.

This is a surfing beach for locals - not a place where you go and set camp and swim in the ocean. Majority of leeward beaches I am afraid are just like this one. The Next Time; I would go to windward side for better beaches such as Waimanalo - Lanikai -Kailua beach.

Went surfing here for two hours. The waves were beautiful. The break creates nice waves, but not so big where you have to worry about being pounded into the rocks under the water. Lots of surfers out at sunrise. We arrived at 0545 and hit the water at first light. Everyone was polite and patient with beginners. If you're not a confident swimmer you might opt for Waikiki Beach with smaller waves. The water is clean, and we didnt notice any trash around. There are showers for rinsing off board/self after surfing. 45 minute drive from Waikiki at 0500 (30 miles), and plenty of parking right at the beach. Minus one star since we needed to leave someone on the beach to make sure nobody walked off with our backpacks....sad.

This is a beach for surfing or watching surfers. I would not take little kids here or kids who expect to play in the water. The waves are bigger and more rough than your standard beach. There are showers and a store for renting boards. Be careful as this is in an area of high theft so keep an eye on your things and make sure you don't leave anything in your car

Our hotel desk clerk recommended this beach, which was close to our hotel in Kapolei. She said it was a "surfers beach". We went to another beach previously, and it was just a lagoon. This is a beach, waves crash, breeze off the water, etc. The water felt great too. Its all free, parking too. And it wasn't really crowded, like Waikiki Beach tends to be. I highly recommend this beach. And if you're lucky, you'll see a monk seal swim by. The lifeguard yelled for everyone to let the seal swim by, which everyone did. And we saw him swim by twice.
