Did a walkabout of this historic neighborhood and came across this old theater. It is now used as a performing arts center and is quite nice. It has a great history that includes Bob Hope doing USO shows there in WW2.

Iconic Theater that’s fun to visit with all kinds of shows! Good sampling of local talent.
The seating is not the greatest, especially if someone larger or tall is in front of you and blocks your view.
The sound is good and it’s just fun.
Go early and enjoy some wonderful coffee and food just down the street or you can purchase goodies at the theater.
Also, there’s plenty of free parking across the street.

It's old, almost 100 years old and it's definitely part of Maui history, still working as a theatre serving the Maui community. We're happy to come back once, twice a year and enjoy the atmosphere.

Fabulous evening after walking around First Friday in Kahului.
Beautiful historic theater with many locals attending.
(Note, watch out for tripping danger (IMO) when going down to the refreshment area.as the floors aren't even.)

The IAO Theater has been a Maui landmark for many years. There is a continued effort to upgrade the theater, installing new chairs, an orchestra pit, and stage. I attend this theater throughout the year, seeing various threatrical productions...........always a great and enjoyable event.

We buy season tickets to every show now because this theater has excelled at producing both phenomenal musicals as well as great dramatic/comedy plays. Highly recommend getting to see a production here.
The new Executive Director has caught his stride and is moving this theater forward in great ways.
And most amazing is the amount of talent from the community that comes forth to do volunteer participation from acting to set design to costumes. Incredible

Such a fun experience! For a small island, good time, always sold out shows with very good local talent. The theater is an institution and the seating is not the greatest if someone larger or tall is in front of you and blocks your view but the sound is good and it’s just pure fun! Go early and enjoy some wonderful coffee and food just down the street.

If you're like me, I'm sure you heard the Young Artists Showcase and had nightmares of screeching violins and off tempo music. This was by FAR not that type of concert. Those young artists were amazing and totally awe inspiring. I would prefer to see this type of entertainment than the big game. The violinists were jaw dropping. Their composure, responses to questions, and their music was off the charts! And the cellist, he will be a household name soon enough. You can see the way he feels the music when he plays the cello.

Not only was the concert amazing, but the conductor was personable and great with the kids. The concert was top class and very professional. The Maui Chamber Orchestra is top quality and something to keep on your radar when you’re in Maui. Like seeing a show in New York City, Maui Chamber Orchestra should be on your list of things to do while on the island.

Next time this concert comes around, I HIGHLY suggest everyone attend. Not only to see an amazing concert, but to support music and the arts for the youth. Not only did the student win, but so did their teachers for continuing to teach music. So, SUPPORT THE ARTS and attend a Maui Chamber Orchestra event!

Have seen two shows at the Iao over the last year while on vacation. The performances were both outstanding considering the size of the theater. Tickets are reasonable and there insn't a bad seat in the house!
