Maui Raceway Park (MRP) 1/4 mile drag strip was just repaved, concrete barricades installed, new timing system, a new sound system and many other new track upgrades completed. It has been an NHRA sanctioned drag strip since 1963 and planted in the heart of Maui. The planned reopening is April 2019. This track is operated by Valley Isle Timing Association and its members with monthly events. You can find information about the track on FB and their web site (MRP.ORG) for calendar of events. It should be a fun and fast year of racing events on Maui. ALOHA..

November 2017 race was the last event for the season and was a blast. The regular season of monthly races will be delayed due to track repaving and other improvements that the track will be performing. Racing under the lights at Maui Raceway Part is a blast for spectators and racers. Spectators show up late afternoon, watch the famous sunset colors and racing that begins at 5:30 pm for most events. There are food trucks and other vendor for good local kind grinds. Pull your vehicle up to the fence and watch the races in your beach chairs or sit in the bleachers provided. Cost is about $10.00 a head and includes walking admission through the pits to meet the racers and view their rides. Rides of all kinds will be racing and you can get up close and personal with racers and their crews. Great family fun. Go to MRP.ORG for more details or find them on Facebook.

This was an inexpensive night of fun. It was joy to be able to sit along side the locals and see some very cool and fast cars and motorbikes. It was well organized and a lot of fun. Food was very cheap and tasty you can also pack your own cooler. Locals brought grills to cook on. Definitely will go back the next time we are in Maui.

Been coming to the Summer Nationals every second August for 11 years... Great little race track that attracts lots of island cars.
Everything from the Jr dragsters for the kids up to the big boys...
Bring a sweater, plan to stick around for the evening... You won't be disappointed

We saw the sign for a once-a-month stock car race that is held on the 2nd Saturday. Great fun was an understatement. Loved the whole relaxed concept attended by mostly locals in puck-up trucks lined up backwards against the fence with chairs and coolers ready to enjoy. Stock cars and Funny cars didn't fail to entertain. Check out the Sumo Dog truck for great hotdogs.

What a great time. Friendly family fun. Best $12 spent in a long time. Old fashioned dirt track. Very exciting. Shame it's only once a month. If you are in maui for more than a week and happen to be here during the race week definitely go.

If you come to Maui and the drag races are going on this is great for all. It is fun to see all the fast cars and some normal ones just out to see how fast their cars will go. I even saw a mini van there once, which actually did quite well, they must have taken out the car seats to decrease the weight :) Fun time for all ages. Bring a BBQ and back up to the track for best seating, but come early to get a good spot.

The photo posted was actually from the mud bog which was really fun. My son had a blast.
