I don’t now if it was due to the date or not but this garden was closed on January 1. Therefore it is hard to give it a review of any kind. It was a nice day so disappointing not to be able to get...More

Drove all the way there and wasn't let in. We are older and the trip took very long. It was supposed to be open another 40 min and would have liked to get out of the vehicle to look. The woman berated us with her...More

I didn't enjoy this visit. I would not recommend to stop there. There are a few nice views, but felt it was not that interesting as a visit.

The Kahanu Garden is the former home a one of the Hana Ali'i. The Heiau is spectacular and the grounds beautifully maintained.

We took the guided tour with a Hana native, who explained how the Hawaiian people view the land and nature, which was fascinating. The garden included significant archeological sites and many imported and native plants. It was an amazing experience.

we enjoyed walking the extensive grounds of Kahanu Garden...long stretches of lawn with varieties of trees and plants important to the Hawaiian culture. The heiau is massive, probably the largest in the Islands, covering 3 acres and about 4 stories high--we could only gaze up...More

We went here since we wanted to see a bit more of the original Maui. The gardens are quite big although the plant exhibits were not all there since I am guessing we were visiting out of season. The sacred ruins were very interesting but...More
