This small black sand beach can get a little crowded but it is a beautiful place to visit or stay. There are cabins for rent, public bathrooms, and a nice shaded picnic area. There is a trail that overlooks a few blowholes and which provides...More

This is easy to find, not far from the city of Hana. When you come to the fork in the road after driving from the entrance, turn left. There is a stairway down to a nice black sand beach and also a nice wooden boardwalk...More

You could quickly run through this in an hour. The lava tubes are cool. The black sand beach is pretty. We are or lunch here then continued on. There is a trail that is permanently closed, some caves, so don't be disappointed.

Black sand beaches were a must see - gorgeous! The trail that goes towards the right side of the park (facing the ocean) was practically deserted and had some of the prettiest views of the coast that we saw all week. Loved this place!

We loved our trip to Hana, but the highlight was definitely Wai'anapanapa State Park and seeing the black sand beach and following the trails!! Highly recommend to anyone traveling to Maui!

We stopped by during our drive of Hana Highway. It's got some very unique views with black volcanic rock based beaches! Definitely worth a stop on the way through the high way!

We stopped here to look at the views and so the kids could swim at the beach. The views were beautiful. The beach was beautiful also but it is a rough surf.

This is a must see. The beach with the black sand and rocks was very different and beautiful. It is well worth the drive on the Hana Rd. Everything about the park and beach make it a must see.

I'm sorry I don't know but it is a state park so I'm sure there's a government site that can give you that info.

The park is busy in the day, quite a few folks around, we hiked and it was fine. I would recommend that you call in ahead and check what the outdoor camping facilities are, then make a decision about over night. all the... More

Definitely make the stop at this park. My husband and I went in July for our honeymoon and we really enjoyed it. I would say it is #3 on my list. Make sure you venture into the caves. Our top other things to do would be a... More
