go down to the easy trail to the beach, take a short, about 45 minute hike along the bay, go thru the lava tube on the beach, and up to the pool and read the legend of the pool.

The Blacksand beach is definitely a stop for the road to Hana. It has a blowhole, caves and many trails to explore. The waves are quite choppy and it's really not Blacksand but really black rocks so be careful wear appropriate shoes.

I'm sorry I don't know but it is a state park so I'm sure there's a government site that can give you that info.

Definitely make the stop at this park. My husband and I went in July for our honeymoon and we really enjoyed it. I would say it is #3 on my list. Make sure you venture into the caves. Our top other things to do would be a... More
