What an amazing job this place does taking care of all the cats. It’s a quick ferry ride over from Lahaina, (which in itself is fun! ) Once you arrive on the island there will be someone at the docks with a shuttle service. It’s...More

The experience of being surrounded by 600 cats is unique and fun. The admission is free (although we, of course, made a donation). Bring cat treats for overwhelming love, but the cats were very friendly with no extra food enticement. The sanctuary originally was established...More

Wonderful non-profit...saving cats and indirectly endangered bird species! A place for cats to live with vet care, love and outdoor freedom.

Lanai Cat Sanctuary is a perfect example of what we should be doing around the world to help animals. The cats receive amazing care here and get to have a life, as opposed to "life in the wild", which is harsh and about 4 years...More

We took the ferry over from Maui and rented a jeep. The ferry is $60 per person round trip. We are a family of cat lovers, but this was a special trip for our son. He was so happy to see the sign when we...More

While I enjoyed my visit, it ended up being quite costly to go over. It’s $60- per person r/t on the ferry. Then, we had to pay $10 per person each way on the shuttle. I kind of wish it was a bit more doable,...More

Aloha Lucy, Thanks for taking the time to give us a four star review. We really appreciate it. We completely agree that it is unfortunately costly to get to us. We wish this was something we could control. But the ferry and the shuttle company...More

Lanai Cat Sanctuary have a HUGE heart to take in and look after all these cats. I wish I could do more to help fund this Sanctuary. A truly unique experience that allows you to pat, cuddle and brush a kitty cat.

First, you can get there by booking with Lost on Lanai Travel who will take care of ferry and shuttle. Which is what we did. Or you can do it all yourself, up to you. Lost on Lanai answered all our questions and were super...More

An absolute must visit for every cat lover. The folks who run this place clearly love and understand our kitty friends and the care and attention shows. Nearly 600 cats live here in Kitty Paradise - plenty of room to play, sun, climb, eat, frolic,...More

You definitely need to take some sort of transportation to get there. Not within walking distance at all. Kind of close to the airport but still need a ride.

Hi, yes, you will have more than enough time. The cat sanctuary should take about 20 minutes from the boat harbor or the airport. Even if you allow a few hours at the sanctuary, you still have plenty of free time. Be sure... More
