Make sure to bring a hat, sunscreen, snack and two liters of water each. I love the views. It is easy to get away from others.

Park at the small lot at end of Ainakoa Street (Google Maps also calls it Ainako St) by the beach. Then go to the left (as you face the ocean). There are any number of trails that all criss cross and interconnect, you can take...More

I enjoyed the hike, but have two warnings for you: a) there is not shade along the hike, so it may get pretty warm in the direct sun after awhile, make sure you are covered; and 2) we found the trail hard to discern at...More

We really enjoyed this walk along the ocean. Beautiful scenery including plants, flowers and of course the gorgeous Pacific Ocean. The portion we walked was an easy walk.

Hiked this trail one am in June 2018. Starts at Shipwreck beach and passes by the Hyatt. Nice views of the crashing waves and lava that has hardened. Saw some sea turtles.

Many ways to take this trail... through the woods or by the ocean. Gorgeous views! It is easy to get separated from your party if you take one trail up to a point and they take another. You will be on sand and rocky terrain....More

We loved the heritage trail. We walked about 1.5 miles and then back again (total of 3 miles) however you can go longer...or shorter. There is limited shade so wear a hat and lots of sun block. The views are great. This is a coastal...More

This is a great walk/hike on the south side. Unlike most of the hikes on the island, this is a flat walk along the coast with minimal elevation change. Full of excellent scenery. A long stretch of it is along the beach, so wear shoes...More

Started at Shipwreck beach. Easy walk along coast and golf course. We started early so not many others along the trail.

It is about 2 miles each way and should take a few hours. A good chunk of it is just walking on the beach. Nothing strenuous and good for all levels.

Going east to west, park at public parking located at the end of Ainakoa St (30 spots). Or park on Poipu Rd and walk 400 meters to the beach. Going west to east, follow Poipu Rd, sign to CJM Country Stables (past Golf... More

Same answer: facing the ocean, going right gives you a paved walking path that windes along the water and eventually fizzles out at the condos. Going left gives you the trail.
