Nice Inlet area mostly for tanning or snorkeling. Several were either snorkeling or surfing (when waves were up). Seemed like you could not predict the waves either. The bottom is very rough so if you decide to swim from shore you better wear water shoes....More

We try to hit this snorkle site at least once every trip to Kauai. Has a small split of sand to lounge. Sandy rocky area to enter. This past trip we saw turtles, wrasse cleaning trumpet and other fish, two types of eels, coral, frog...More

This was our first time snorkeling and we greatly enjoyed it! We were able to park across the street from the beach. It's a very rocky entry into the water, so my suggestion is to sit down in very shallow water, put on your fins,...More

We came to Kauai to snorkel. Unfortunately some of the best snorkeling spots were inaccessible or contaminated due to the April 2018 flooding. But we found Lawai Beach (aka Beach House Beach) to be the BEST snorkeling spot for us. So many beautiful fish, particularly...More

We love snorkeling here! Sunsets are great here as well - we have seen a huge selection of fish over the years - turtles, rays, tangs, parrot fish and even a small shark. It is a bit tricky to get in and out. There is...More

One of the best snorkeling beaches in Kauai. Also nice for just parking in the sun. Convenient food truck for lunch. Or the Beach House restaurant if you want to splurge.

Lanai Beach is probably the best place to snorkel on the south shore, especially if you are on the hunt for turtles. However, it is not a great beach for those looking to sit on the sand -it is a very rocky area with little...More

Snorkeling at Lawai Beach is free, open to the public, directly accessible from the street. Besides snorkeling, many people bring wine/snacks to enjoy the sunset on the small terraced lawn space bordering the cove. Enjoy!
