The Hindu monastery and Kadavul Temple is a beautiful and serene place very close to the Kapaa beach and Lihue airport area. You have to make a reservation if you want to attend the 9am morning services/puja. The area around the monastery and temple are beautiful and serene. After the 9am services, we were able to get a tour of the new temple which is simply beautiful. There are beautiful gardens and a waterfall that all add to the serene and peaceful feeling here. There is also a gift shop that sells rudraskha beads in addition to many other items.

Absolutely wonderful place to visit in Kawaii even if you are not a Hindu or Shiv Bhagt!!
Amazing architecture friendly volunteers and absolutely will open your eyes to Hindu way of live and how you live in Harmony with nature even in modern day Kauai!!
While temple is still under construction one will be amazed at surrounding gardens !!
Likely you will return to meditate here !!
cannot wait to see the finished vision.

Breathtaking views and location, must see whatever your religious beliefs are ! It is open only from 9am to noon and the walk to the larger monastry is only through a tour guide (free) and the tours are at 9.30am and 10.45am.

Gorgeous view over wailua river, beautiful grounds and temple; more lush flowers foliage if you can get special visit behind the rope which only happened in 2011 visit on my parents 50th wedding anniversary, had planned in advance, because this site is exactly where my parents had honeymoon before it became Monastery grounds so has a very special connection, the history, and the intention of the Hinduism philosophy are also, beautiful and inspirational

The lush beauty of the gardens, the peaceful easy breathing atmosphere and the quiet contemplation made this a special visit for us. We loved the quietness and hushed walk through these gardens.

We especially appreciated the ceremony where you write down things you want to let go of, and then burn it in the rose colored urn. Such a sense of release and calm. We left mementos at the banyan tree of meditation. I've been before but my daughters and granddaughter had not. They experienced the same feeling of peacefulness I did when I visited previously a few years ago.

We had brought our own sarongs and we felt a part of this place as the hush and calm fills your soul.
