Even though the Volcano park is closed, the helicopters can still fly over the rifts where the lava is flowing into the sea. Flew over Rift #8 and the flow coming out was tremendous. If you have any motion sickness issues in a car at...More

What an amazing trip with Blue Hawaiian Helicopters. We are the first flight out in the morning and had such beautiful clear skies. We saw amazing landscape that you just would not see by car. Flying over fissure 8 and seeing the lava flow was...More

Shame on the media for making it sound like the whole island is on fire! It took us 40min by helicopter @224km/hr or something to even reach the lawa and then it flows the opposite direction. But man was it worth it with these guys....More

Terrific, fun and exhilarating helicopter flight and aerial tour of the Big Island. If you can afford it you will not regret taking this tour, which was the only way we were going to see the Volcano before we left. Great pilot and memorable flight

We rode with Blue Hawaiian and our pilot was Loren. He was very knowledgeable and absolutely funny. He was a military pilot for 20 years so I was very comfortable with him. I’m glad we made the decision to fly with Blue Hawaiian.

My wife and I paid almost $1000 for a premium total island flight. Unfortunately, we got the left of center rear seat. While you can get a glimpse of the sights (to include the lava flow) it was an extremely poor position to get good...More

I’m sorry to hear that your flight with us was less than exceptional. Eco-Star’s 23% increased cabin space over the A-Star provides significantly improved visibility with over 65 square feet of glass for 180 degree unobstructed views, so hearing about limited visibility from just over...More

The lava is still flowing vigorously out of the lower rift zone. The helicopters are not permitted to fly over the crater, but you will see lava provided the weather is good. Morning flights have a better chance at good... More

you should try to book at least a week ahead of time, but remember all is dependent on weather conditions, volcanic conditions.

Eco star are the nicer helicopters. I also recommend asking if your tour company provides noise canceling headsets.
