In all our visits to Door County and Sturgeon Bay, we never knew this place existed. We’re glad we found it. Very unique glasswork at reasonable (ish) prices. The staff person that day - who moved from Cleveland to Sturgeon Bay - was enjoyable, helpful and genuinely seemed to enjoy her work.

We stopped by the Popelka-Trenchard Glass (PTG) studio on a Sunday morning, since it was only a few blocks from our B&B. This was a serendipitous decision, for the PTG is a modest, but interesting glass studio, and we ended up spending quite a bit more time there than one might have thought given its small size. Mr. Popelka is the glass blower and he was glad to give us a tour through the shop adjoining the showroom (there was no activity that day in the shop, I gather since it was Sunday). As I understood it, Ms. Trenchard is the artist and designs most of the pieces which they then realize in glass. They offer a number of different styles; this means a visitor may be more likely find something they like. For example, I personally did not care greatly for the distinctive cast glass sculptures, but I found very attractive the heavy blown-glass bowls and vases which featured high-temperature paintings remarkably evocative of Van Gogh sunflowers. Mr. Popelka was a very amiable gentleman in showing us around and even offered our youngest a small hand-made glass dog. Overall, the PTG was a nice discovery on a quiet street in town, and I hope we'll have the chance to visit again in the near future.

The shop and studio are right next to each other. The studio is filled with great unique blown glass works of art. Both husband and wife create these beautiful offerings. Could not resist a terrific vase to take home. If you are in door county and are a lover of high quality and unique glass items, STOP here.

Came here on a Friday afternoon an hour or two before closing to see what Popelka Trenchard Glass had to offer and was VERY VERY impressed!!! I met Jeremy who is a very nice, non pretentious man. He explained to me that he gets most of the decorative colors he uses in the glass from Germany and New Zealand. He also explained how some glasses mix and some don't. He explained the history of some of his pieces, that they represent things from his youth on. The pieces themselves are BEAUTIFUL!!! They have plates, vases, blown glass flowers and several other glass pieces that are AMAZINGLY beautiful!!! You can buy what I called teardrop glass pieces (incorrect name, but that's the only word I can think of) for use as a part of a necklace for $25.00 or $30.00, depending if there's color decoration in the glass or it's plain colored. Very reasonable prices😀. Being a nature lover, I asked if he knew of any good areas to hike. He explained to me how to get to a few areas off the beaten path. Very productive. To sum it up: because of the great attitude and knowledge of Jeremy (and I'm sure Stephanie) of their profession, the beautiful artwork and reasonable prices on some pieces, I plan on coming back in the future. Eventhough I didn't buy this time, the next time I will if there is a piece that catches my eye to give that AWESOME wow factor!!!

From 12 to 2 on Saturdays, Jeremy Popelka and Stephanie Trenchard give a glass demonstration in their studio that is phenomenal. The two of them work very well together and we had the privilege of watching 3 different glass art works come to life.

We actually found this place while on our Segway tour of Sturgeon Bay. Our guide Paul took us by there. We went back afterward intending to just stay for a little bit of the demonstration, and we wound up staying for the full 2 hours.

Now if we just had room for more art work in the house!

A friend talked me into one of the basic glass blowing classes. Not being artistic or very handy I was a little intimidated to try it, but was soon put at ease. Everyone at the studio was so friendly and helpful. Jeremy, the owner/instructor, was very patient and knowledgeable and made it a unique and rewarding experience, and we took home some nice pieces. I highly recommend taking a class and checking out the beautiful work available in their showroom.

Lucky for us we had a rainy day while visiting Sturgeon Bay. We were looking in the morning for something to do that day. Mr Popelka welcomed us into his studio and scheduled a lesson for our two teenagers that afternoon. Both had no experience but under his careful but permissive guidance each made a beautiful blown glass vase. He is one of the best teachers I have ever seen....a must see for anyone with an interest in glass blowing.

As a ‘glassie’ I expected to see some beautiful glass, but it exceeded my expectation! Stephanie was so generous in sharing her technique and helping us choose the perfect piece for our collection!

Highly recommend this for family fun, probably better for older kids, not little ones. We booked a family glass blowing class with Jeremy. He is a patient, outstanding teacher. We booked a 3 hour class, he gave us a demonstration and then he worked with us on pieces. Very informative, made us feel at ease, safe and offered great suggestions on ways to make our pieces that more special. We were thrilled with the results when we picked up our pieces the next day. Everyone at the studio is very kind and the kids loved petting Whiskey, the studio dog.

Now we have some great souvenirs of our trip to Door county including our own Christmas ornaments.

Highly recommend and we will book again on our next trip.

We were so happy to catch Jeremy Popelka and Stephanie Trenchard working in the studio! It was amazing to see technique in person. Mary, who was working in the gallery, told us so much about the processes involved in making many of the pieces. I purchased a very pretty wine glass. Popelka actually signed it for me before we left. Free demonstrations are offered on Saturdays. We were not there on a Saturday but were so glad we stopped by and were able to see the artists working.
