We stopped here to get a good view of the falls but walked away disappointed. You cannot see the falls from the lookout point due to tons of saplings and branches in the way. The path to get closer is only made of dirt and...More

Don't try to get the picture if you are not physically able to get down to the bottom and back up. It is steep and muddy.

It takes time getting there on the road under construction. 18 miles from the visitor center to crossing the bridge then 9 miles to the falls. Rough one way with construction stops. One you get there they are beautiful and has a nice board walk....More

These falls are not high, (don't expect Niagara) but instead are a series of wide falls on the New River near Hinton, WV. The road to the falls is rough in some places but is under repair and will be quite nice when finished. There...More

The road is under repair and will be very nice when complete! Road is not in horrible condition, but in places you must take it slow. The drive is worth it. Nice clean boardwalk area. Can walk down to New River.

I visited on this beautiful fall day and it was well worth the trip. I will say that if I had not read the Trip Advisor reviews about the horrible road I might have either assumed I'd done something wrong or turned around because it...More

Such a pretty place! The falls aren't high as you might imagine, rather they break over a series of low rock ledges that spread and curve out over the river. Imagine a baby Niagara. There's a boardwalk that affords you an easy walk to view...More

My family lives in North Central West Virginia and I have never heard of these falls. Visiting Lewisburg, we decided on a day trip to Sandstone Falls. Took the scenic route and we're lucky to happen upon John Henry's monument near Talcott, WV. Stopped in...More

The road to the falls is awful. There is road work for over 6 miles. So places are so rough car bottomed out.

This path is nicely maintained and easy to navigate. Don't let the road detract from getting to the falls, it is worth the trip, Bring your picnic supplies as there are tables and grills. For some relaxation take a fishing poll along.

Definitely won't be done anytime soon. Like a previous poster said, probably not even this year. The road is narrow and really rough in some places but it's certainly passable. There were many different kinds of vehicles... More
