Great museum, lots of pieces of coal history. Really well kept. The woman working there was extremely nice and helpful.There is a place in the back where the kids can pretend to mine coal. Coal miners were an important but overlooked part of the growth...More

The museum is small but after being through the West Virginia coal heritage trail it tied everything together (how miners worked, lived, grew and matured). The museum us on the lowest street where parking is limited on state street there is public parking (free) walk...More

actual items, especially fossilized plants fount in the coal, are up close and personal, unlike some museums with replicas locked in the case 30 feet away.
