We were here in December so we missed the blooming flowers but the scenery was still lovely. The scenic views offered a view of Seattle.

The 5-mile drive was very picturesque. The road winds through a park, hiking trails, outlooks and, in our case, families of raccoons.

Nothing beats doing the drive in an electric car, driving silently with the with windows down, listening to the sounds of the forest. Well yes, on a bicycle or walking is even better.

The trails are only for foot traffic. Bicycles are not allowed on the trails themselves, but can be ridden on the road without problem. For more information go to the Metro Parks Tacoma website.
