You can't miss this beautiful mountain river. If you are hiking around Stehekin or off to climb a mountain, it's worth a moment to sit and meditate by a this river.

Beautiful river that has easy access from many areas near the road. We were there the end of September & there were many bright red Kokanee fish spawning. They are a land locked sockeye salmon. There are several campsite near by.

Mostly level with a few short climbs. A bit hard to find the trailhead ( find the airstrip, turn left to parallel it and go to the end). Variety of topograghy. Saw deer and LOTS of kokanee in the river.

If you like the outdoors & want to seriously get unplugged, this should be at the top of your list. It truly is a place where rivers, creeks & a crystal clear lake flows though tall old evergreens. Truly worth the effort getting here.

We wanted to hike the Agnes Gorge Trail. It's 11.1 miles from the Lodge to the trail head. We were ready to go at 10am. The Red Bus leaves at 11am and gets to the High Bridge (Agnes Gorge Trailhead) at noon. We were told...More

We took the Red Bus once on the way to the falls then decided to walk & explore on the way back & all other trips. Glad we did. There are so many things to see. The view is always amazing.

The Stehekin River's beautiful Aqua blue milky water is shockingly cold as is cascades down rocky gorges from glacial melt on the high North Cascade mountains.

This is a very pretty river. The fishing for trout is good and there are many access points. Watch the salmon go upstream in the fall.

A lovely river running through some beautiful scenery, then emptying into Lake Chelan. You can kayak up the mouth of the river from Lake Chelan, but watch for all of the snags and stumps hear where the river empties into the lake. If you're there...More

A truly wild and scenic river, almost entirely untouched. Cold water, so not great for swimming, but there's fishing, rafting through the Stehekin Valley Ranch, or just wandering along and enjoying the views. It gets pretty buggy in August and September, though.
