I finally went to The Magic Lantern, why did I wait so long? For years I've heard reviews about some very good movies, "art films" and I knew they'd never be shown at the local Regal. Wait no more, this theater offers them. It is...More

Kooky and takes you way back to some theaters of old. Fun part of town with a shabby-hipster flare. In the Sarnac building (next to a tavern that serves a great hamburger-but no fries). You get to see mostly art-house type films. The entrance is...More

The Lantern is where you will find the great small films that are ignored by the AMCs of the world. A couple of weeks ago we went there to see RBG the great bio documentary about Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg. The two theaters...More

I like to go to the magic lantern when the normal theaters are not showing specific shows. It's nice to support a local theater.

This was our 1st visit to the new location and it was nice to see that folks could bring in adult beverages from the adjoining Saranac. All ages attended and popcorn in big stainless bowls was the de jour for many kids & adults. Seating...More

I love this theater. The Lantern has been in Spokane for a long time, even though it was closed for awhile and later moved to the current location. They have REAL homemade popcorn in aluminum bowls like you might use at home. Its small and...More

My husband and I have visited many times and like the price of admission, snacks and the interesting movies. Very eclectic and not your modern theater!

Small theater that shows the movies you won't find in the multi-plexes. The seats don't flip out and back, but the popcorn is better. Check it out!

We loved this experience. Sometimes it can be hard for my spouse to hear the dialogue in a theater. This intimate space was perfect. There are only about 30 seats and they have wine and popcorn etc.

I always enjoy going to the Magic Lantern. It is an old and charming theater in the university district part of the town. They bring good selection independent of movies which are not broadly distributed (even online) and they are less expensive than the regular...More
