This is a lovely place for a stroll, it has beautiful views. The parking is tough though, it seems to be very busy, especially on a pretty clear day, which is few and far between in this area. Stop of for an hour or so...More

Marathon Park circles Capital Lake and makes for a great walk or jog. Great for birders too. It's especially popular when the sun is out so parking can be difficult. There is a brain dead movement afoot to turn the lake back into a tide...More

This is a lovely walk around a lake and offers a nice trail of switchbacks that climbs up to the Capitol Building and grounds!

Nice walking trail around Capital Lake. Great for a 30 to 45 minute walk after a day of meetings indoors.

I like to run here. Nice gravel area and paved the rest of the way. I steer clear of this area after dark there are homeless encampments under the bridge on 5th.

You can walk from this park around Capitol Lake, viewing the state capital building, city center, and across the lake views. Plenty of parking.

Truthfully, I found out about this park first from the area's local author Andras Jones - in his book 'Accidental Initiations'. I have taken a few walks around the tree now and all I can say is it is invigorating, gorgeous, and magical. Highly recommended.
